I actually liked your voice on the Podmic more than the SM7B. I like the clarity of the Podmic. The SM7B sounds too boomy.

Both dynamic mics are amazing. definitely a great watch if someone is in the market for a new dynamic mic and want to hear audio clips from each mic to compare the two and see which is better suited for that person. another great video

Got the Podmic. It sounds very phenomenal. This is the best microphone I have ever used (to be fair, all of my previous mics sucked anyway lol)

I like the Røde Podmic better, which is good because it is a lot cheaper. When I did buy my Røde Podmic yesterday with the PSA1 studio arm and Audient Evo 4 interface with an xlr cable it did cost slightly less than the Shure SM7B costs (microphone only)

I used the SM7B on a GOXLR Mini together with a Fethead germanium for days and was not able to get rid of the damn white noise. I had to add a noise removal plugin to my OBS to get rid of it and along with it some clarity is lost (of course). Watching your video was like "how could he get that sound and I get that mess"? Removed the Fethead, set the GOXLR settings like yours and bam ... works like a charm. No noise susspression needed anymore. I can even run without the gate. The Fethead gives me white noise + some "eletrical noise" like short bursts high frequency. Wherever that comes from sound like picked up radio or something. Thank you so much. I thought I have to go crazy about this issue. Audio is pain.

Glad to help. There's a lot of info out there saying you need an extra boost for the SM7B but that's just not necessary. Good you got it sorted as it's a pain getting XLR mics right sometimes!

@@TheProvokedPrawn I'm sure it depends on the audio interface you are using. Are the pre-Amps of your interface good enough or not. I'm so happy your settings work for me too. It is a little bit odd I did not find this myself, I tried so much. So thank you again :D
