As far as I'm concerned, the Rodecaster is a major gamechanger for podcasting, and perhaps even live video. What are your thoughts?

I’m enjoying this series. Just the background blown out but that can be fix on the camera setting not if you are using your phone.

Yeah, I need to get better with using the iPhone for video. For portions of the video it was fine, and other portions it was blown out. I considered trashing it and re-doing it but I did think the blown out background gave way to a great view and emphasis on the Rode itself. 🤣

Three suggestions... 1. Lose the sunglasses so your eyes aren’t hidden. 2. Buy the XLR to 3.5mm adapter from Rode to use the 4 inputs you already have to connect other audio-in sources (e.g. computer or lav mic). 3. Learn about NDI so you can route your video/audio over your network from other connected computers into your streaming software (e.g. VMix)

Art, thanks for the comments. I'm still toying with it but I still think for more advanced live streaming using a dedicated mixer and other audio components is going to be the best way to go. We'll see. And for as much live video as I've done, more and more I'm finding that not doing anything with NDI is kind of amazing - I've done nothing with it. I do use Wirecast for all live videos, but I'm sure I can use NDI with Wirecast with no issues at all. As for the shades lol - my eyes are pretty sensitive when it's sunny out but I hear you...thanks for your comments!

Pause has already been added. You just hold record down for 2 seconds.
