[Verse 1] There's a bright, golden haze on the meadow There's a bright, golden haze on the meadow The corn is as high as a elephant's eye And it looks like it's climbing clear up to the sky [Chorus] Oh, what a beautiful mornin' Oh, what a beautiful day I've got a beautiful feelin' Everything's goin' my way Oh what a - oh what a beautiful day [Verse 2] All the cattle are standin' like statues All the cattle are standin' like statues They don't turn their heads as they see me ride by But a littlе brown mav'rick is winkin' her eye [Chorus] Oh, what a bеautiful mornin' Oh, what a beautiful day I've got a beautiful feelin' Everything is goin' my way Oh what a - oh what a beautiful day [Bridge] Everything, everything, everything Is goin' my way Everything, everything, everything Is goin' my way [Verse 3] All the sounds of the earth are like music Oh the sounds of the earth are like music The breeze is so busy, it don't miss a tree An' a ol' weepin' willow is laughing at me [Chorus] Oh, what a beautiful mornin' Oh, what a beautiful day I've got a beautiful feelin' Everything's goin' my way [Outro] What a beautiful day What a beautiful day What a beautiful - What a beautiful day

His goal was to do sort of a pop version. The album is called "R&H goes pop!" for a reason 😅

@@launyohanina and it works surprisingly well. And after all, R & H songs WERE considered pop songs back in the day.

More like Hammerstein goes pop

These songs don't need to be - and shouldn't be - "reinterpreted". They're classics just as they are, and Jeremy Jordan is good enough to sing this song the way it was written. This is "American Idol" level and it deserves better.

@@launyohaninaYes, but this level of arrangement is bad (I don't want to be rude but I can't find a middle ground), there have been many reversions of Broadway classic that have managed to transfer the essence with modern music, this one does not have the melody, nor the key that I'm sure that will be forgotten in a few years.

True. A mobile phone. An urban landscape. And a breathy immature rendition. Awful.

“Let me sing a song about a beautiful morning amid the cornfields of Oklahoma, while perched on the banks of the East River in New York.” Of course the song is beautiful, and Jeremy is amazing. But the whole scene is absurd. Jeremy should’ve raised his hand and said, “um, none of this makes sense.”

Reminds me of young Ricky martin.

It seems that his singing lost the feeling from original score! I prefer to the original score sung by Gordon Mcgrae.

I like most of the other interpretations. But this is so far from the original melody that it is a completely different song. I love Jeremy Jordan, but I don’t love this interpretation. I don’t hate it, but I really don’t love it.

@@johnhabernathy Maybe it’s because you know well and like the original. I didn’t know this song before and so I really like this pop version but don’t really like the original 😅

Why change the beautiful melody and lyrics from the original? Roger's and Hammerstein's were master's at writing words and music. Tried listening to a couple of songs from this group and they have managed to screw up the songs they sang.
@Cris-db8iy3 жыл бұрын
An R&H classic turned into an easily forgettable basic white pop song. They had to choose arrangers who really know how to do a great tribute, not call a friend of Laura Osnes (look at the credits, Jeremy Jordan also participated in arranging).
