Nice one Rodian. Great tools grinders but I hate them , they’re dusty , noisy and can kill you ! Al is slightly clumsy so I’m reluctant to let him loose on one yet . I couldn’t live with myself if he gut injured using one but I know he needs to learn eventually 😬. We’ve got a blue Bosch 9” corded 👌🏼and gone through a lot of the 4” ones . Cheap Argos own , Perles ( lasted about 2 hours ) , many dewalts , a couple of blue Bosch’s . Currently using a Metabo and it’s the dogs 🥜. Cracking piece of kit . 🧱👍🏽

When I was an apprentice the gang of brickies I was with asked me to cut a few bricks with the stihl saw after I finished they all made a point of telling me how brilliant I was on the saw.....I was chuffed to bits.....it was only after a few months I sussed out it was because they couldn't be arsed using the saw themselves as it was sore on the back and were only too delighted to have me cut everything! Lesson learnt....DON'T be too keen too early, or they will take advantage! 😂😂

I'd do something with the switch on my 4.5 inch Makita one to prevent it from being able to clip altogether, I don't want the "always on" function to be possible

Nice video. Appreciated Forgot to mention PPE includes steel toecaps Also (controversially?) I would expect to be wearing a glove on the hand "downstream" of the dust stream from the 4 1/2" inch grinder. I acknowledge that you are advised never wear gloves near a bench grinder/wire wheel, but from personal experience having my hand in a jet stream of fine abrasive with no glove is not a nice situation.

Thanks for the video. The angle grinder does not kick back towards the legs but rather runs forward if it bites in.

If I was only doing work at my own house, could I use a table saw (mitre saw)? The free standing saw makes me nervous.
@johncoppock38234 жыл бұрын
For an amateur, never put down a spining grinder, after releasing trigger, and let go before its stopped. If it falls over it could then run over your foot. Proper safety boots. Also if using fibre disks, check the date on the disk and discard if past its use by date. Some time could you show us thicker disks for old mortar removal, also alternative tools powered and hand tools that can be used for clean out before repoint. Great chanel, many thanks.

Should use a petrol disc cutter with PPE and water suppression. Electric grinders 4” and 9” kick and cannot be water suppressed.
@伯SouthPaw875 жыл бұрын
We use two different brands of petrol grinders what we call demo saws. I love the Husqvarna's low and mid range torque but going wide open I prefer the Stihl. Both great saws or grinders.

Rodian, just a heads up. Your 4" griding blade should be only used for cutting, not grinding. It may break and cause damage.
@ajc71665 жыл бұрын
The first machine Its not a grinder, its a cut off saw. It can only take cutting wheels.The reason I make a point of saying this is because cutting wheels and grinding wheels are different. I suppose if you were desperate enough you could cut with a grinding blade, but never grind with a cutting blade. The first machine would be marked up at 5100 rpm the two smaller machines, probably 11000 & 9500. they can be use for cutting or grinding if fitted with the correct discs. Regardless of wearing a dust mask, the HSE require the use of water suppression were the provision exists.

@@kierenboimufc5940 The Abrasive wheels regs were repealed 1970. These covered the safer use and mounting of the wheel. This is I believe the ticket you mentioned. Now of course we have PUWER Provision and use of work equipment Regs which covers all work equipment, and essentially but not exclusively, covers the need for operatives to have knowledge and training to use equipment as used in the video. There must be a record kept of the training.

The other thing is when the blade is still springs once you've stopped the machine you can get the bord what your using to cut the brick on and just slow the blade to a complete stop them you can put the machine down
