@michiwood6856 i just used the portable weber grill he bought me for Christmas last year. Absolutely knocked it out of the park (apparently, because it was my first time grilling). Everybody was happy and I couldn't help but wish my dad was here to experience it instead of wasting away in a hospice bed. But, I called him and told him, and he was overjoyed. Ended the call early because I could tell he was about to cry. Gonna miss the hell out of that man. Bless you and your family. Thank you so much for your kind words.

When I was little, like seven years old, I was such a daddy's girl and I would sing this song to my dad over and over again. Anyway I had totally forgotten about it and I'm 17 now and will be 18 in August. About a month ago my dad died and this song just popped into my head and I looked it up and this is the first time I cried since I found out he died and it really helped. @Kentuckydude775 Thank you so much for your heartfelt comment! It's definitely been a crazy ride! Words couldn't describe the feelings that were spiraling as soon as I got to hold him for the first time. I still can't believe it sometimes. Of course, it's had its many challenges, and I, too, am learning so much about myself and life in general. Making and learning from new mistakes and treasuring every moment that I'm blessed to spend with him. If you really want it, just know that you can prepare as much as you'd like, but there's nothing that could truly prepare you for what's to come. As long as you're resilient and loving, that's all you need to have a foundation. From there, only experience and time will provide the building blocks to shape you into the great parent that I'm sure you'll get to be :)

I mainly listen to a lot of heavy metal and all that kinda stuff on the music spectrum and I'm generally a tough guy I don't get angry easily and I don't get upset easily but this song, whenever I hear it I just turn into a crying mess mainly because it reminds me of the relationship I have with my dad and I want to be like him. He's a big influence in my life and I want to thank him for everything he'd done for me in my life and I hope one day I can repay him

I don't know why, but ever since I became a father a few years ago, I can't help but cry every time I hear the song Watching You by Rodney Atkins. All I wanted when I was a kid was to be like my dad. Now that I have kids of my own, all they want is to be with me. And I STILL want is to be like my dad. Another song that I love is A Father's Love by George Strait. It gets me going every time. Even though I never talked to my dad about how these songs make me feel, I just feel like he knows already. Now that I'm a father I can only wish that my kids can look to me the same way I look to my dad. Strong, humble, kind, diligent, loyal, patient, honest, and courageous. My dad is a protector, a teacher, a provider, and a friend. My dad really is my hero.

melts my heart, This came on the radio yesterday when me, my son, age 10, & 2 teen daughter as well, were swimming at the ymca, i ran home to grab my their step-dad his migraine meds... my son has been acting like him, he's never been this happy, his older sisters told me.. He even said, Mom, I want to get a necklace like Owen so when I go home, I will remember him, he picks out his clothes to match his step-dad's, its adorable!!! And Ive never been this happy.. their biological dad is just a jerk to women, It always worried me, until yesterday my son Aidan said the sweetest thing when we were it the kiddie section of the pool, he said "mommy? If I ever have a girlfriend, I think I will buy her flowers, roses probably like your tattoos mommy" A: That's wonderful son, I'm proud of u, u have a great heart!! I love my children SO much, it flies by so so fast!! truly does, they all are getting so big, my girls are young but very smart and mature!! I

Now 26 searching this song out to listen to because my 6 year old son I raise who isn’t mine looked at me tonight and said before bed. Thank you for raising me.
