Rodney Faldyn '88 | Mays Business School Outstanding Alumnus 2023 | Texas A&M University

Rodney Faldyn retired from Academy Sports + Outdoors in 2015, where he served as president & CEO and board member. Prior to the sale of the Company to KKR in 2011, Rodney served as president and chief financial officer.
Prior to joining Academy Sports + Outdoors, Rodney held various executive roles over three years at N. F. Smith & Associates, a privately-held, international electronics distributor. Additionally, he spent seven years at Enron Corp. in several capacities including vice president in international finance/M&A, and chief accounting officer for a publicly-held subsidiary. Prior to Enron, Rodney spent eight years at Deloitte working in the energy, wholesale trade and construction sectors.
Rodney is a graduate of Texas A&M University and has served as a member of the Dean’s Advisory Board at Mays Business School. He was the 2013 recipient of the Texas A&M Center for Retailing Studies M.B. Zale Visionary Merchant Award.
Rodney recently completed an eight year commitment on the Board of Directors for Goodwill Industries of Houston. He is currently serving on various advisory boards for non-profits and start-ups. When not traveling, Rodney and his wife spend the majority of the time at their ranch in Cat Spring, TX.
Rodney and his wife have four grown children.
