few years ago when i saw rodri started the 11 i used to say why did pep used this guy so much. i actually didnt like him. but now, without him i dont even trust the squad. hes the best CDM rn

Probably Pep used him so much because Guardiola was CDM himself and understands better than anybody what it is required for the position. Pep also knows how important is for him to have a great player there: He got Busquets in Barcelona, Xabi Alonso at Bayern and now Rodri. What a trio !

I remember when he came. A few games into the new season people wanted him gone. Not a great first season but still had some stats better than Fernas from his first season. Pep players always become a beast in their second season. Look at him now, the best in the world.
