Who would have thought 40 years ago that we'd see Rod Stewart dressed to the nines, singing old standards, with full orchestra backup. Not me! I've been listening to him since he was with Jeff Beck, back in the late 60s. I saw him 30 years ago doing his rock and roll songs, and would love to see him in concert singing these songs. I would never have believed, with his voice, that he'd sound great singing songs like this.

Yes, I agree, Rod Stewart's voice isn't the best for it but it's just the way he sings it and those flaws that make this some for me. He puts emotion into the song for me not so much hitting the notes right, you know. I saw Adam Levine's version and it was good but yeah like no one can quite get it I do agree. I might have to listen to some you listed here. And your right if other people would sing it, maybe just maybe ide like it more, so far Rod is the guy for me:-)
