I am going to tell my story about Rod Stewart. My Dad was a major record distributor in sales. I was living with him in 1971. He came home one night and played this album. He asked me to listen to it. I was 20 years old. I listened, and he asked me what I thought and how much he should order. I said order them all. I fell in love. This is a true story

If I had two minutes to talk to Rod, I'd tell him about the re-scheduled date where I saw him and the Faces in Germany in a small venue in the mid-70's with the crowd being about 300 people and very few of us we're Americans. I got to watch the entire show (and shoot pictures) from the foot of the stage. It was glorious and a night I'll never forget.

Epic performance of the two greatest songs he ever written. The crowd is awesome, Rod 's voice is still there, Ronnie as well, and to not forget, Janna Jacoby's wonderful playing in the epic mandolin part. The transitions to and from Gasoline Alley are masterful. Wow!

Probably the greatest live performance ever of Maggie May. Rod's singing, J'Anna's mandolin, Ronnie's guitar, the crowd singing every word, although most of them weren't even born at the time, it's all there. What makes it even more special is that he's back in London, playing Albert Hall, looking at Ronnie and sings about going back home (in a genius passage of Gasoline Alley). They grow up together in London, if you didn't know. Totally awesome.

Watching this for probably the 20th time it brings back so many memories. My wife passed last month the day before our 51st wedding anniversary. When we first got married "Every Picture Tells A Story" came out. We were in the Army and did not own a TV so playing the grooves off of the few albums we could afford was our entertainment as we dreamed and made plans for our future. The pure joy of the musicians, audience and Rod is the same I have, sitting here crying, as I remember those innocent days in the first year of our marriage. Joan and I saw our dreams and plans come to life over the years. She said her only regret was not getting to further enjoy the great home and life we built together; I thanked her for her efforts in leaving me a place of peace and sanctuary to continue to enjoy. Thank you Rod for being a conduit back to those times and bringing so much joy to the world.

@scott, couldn't agree more, something about a live concert, raw, ad libbing, playing hard and having fun, if you make a mistake, like I have with my band, play a roll in the wrong spot or add a symbol here or there, no one cares, just keep playing. These two always have fun when playing together, period!, and that's what makes it magical, and the memories they share together from way back as well.

In the late 1970s I worked as a US Customs broker at the Los Angeles International Airport, LAX. Our company was contracted by The Rolling Stones to clear their baggage/freight through US Customs. It included their instruments. But it was after hours, so I had to go to where their freight was stored while US Customs searched it all. Which they did thoroughly! Then I had to phone Ron Wood to get further instructions after I got everything cleared through Customs. I remember thinking what a gracious man he was on the phone. I have been a Rod Stewart fan from my teen years in the 1960s-70s. I got to see him in concert in the late 1970s. Maggie May was my favorite song in my youth. Freddy Mercury had the best voice of all time they said he was the man with a thousand voice's. Anyone that can do rock and orchestra is just awesome. But I love rod Stewart. His husky voice just brilliant. Then u was a beautiful voice try Roy obison. Just unbelievable voice.

from 2:51-3:17 not a sound from the stage, no vocals, no instruments, yet the concert went on from the fans. PRICELESS 😄

I learnt to play the drums years ago and "Maggie May" had such a steady beat. Later I took up bagpipes and "Sailing" was one of the tunes that went with the pipes so well. Rockin' Rod's music takes all forms!🎵😅

I love Rod Stewart, he has a rugged looks and unusual husky voice. Love most of his songs, what a talented guy. Ron Wood was his guest guitarist. I really like the sweet looking girl playing the mandolin guitar. This is one of the most lively shows. Second half of the the show, she stole some lime lights.

When you're such a great rock star all you have to do is stand on stage and the crowd sings the song to you! I love you Rod Stewart!

This is an amazing song. This live version isn't what I'm used to hearing. So it's a little off. The studio version is I'm more used to. I've never been to a concert in my life. So, is this what it's like?
