I grew up watching these westerns. It helped to inform our lives, to be courageous, good and polite to women like a real cowboy hero.

I saw this episode in 1963. Great show, and haunting theme. Makes one long for a simpler past. The stars were from the Golden Age of Hollywood, all now gone. Sad. With all of the car crash movies and explosions, the talents of modern actors, if any, is hidden.

We loved these westerns as we grew up. My mother bought my brother beautiful cap guns and holsters. My brother took them all apart trying to figure out how they worked. My mother collected the pieces of each gun and stored them in coffee cans which she gave back to him as an adult.

Didn’t the Olson Twins make a movie by that title?

The "All-Girl Indian Expravaganza" was actually the comedy short WHAT, NO MEN?, starring El Brendel.

Thanks for uploading this. I loved "Hollywood and the Stars" when I saw it when it came out in the early 60s and have thought of it often. I really the theme song. Sorry the top of the picture is cropped. Have you found the episode on monster movies, "Monsters We Have Known and Loved"?
@rodwillerton10 жыл бұрын
Glad you enjoyed it, Bill. I'm afraid that I don't have "Monsters", but I do have one or two more episodes to upload in due course.

Funny, Hollywood fails to mention the treatment of the native Americans or the fact that there'd be no cowboys without the Vaqueros of new Spain, which became Mexico for about 25 years, or the stolen lands that resulted in these two groups of people's being placed on the bottom rungs of western society up to this day! There's nothing to celebrate when history is presented in such a twisted way in the pursuit of the anglo dollar! As a young person I enjoyed the movies, now as a historian enjoyment isn't what emotion I feel when watching whats called entertainment. Remember ignorance is bliss.

0:00 to 24:31 no Burt Reynolds in this video
@H.pylori7 жыл бұрын
Why should there be....the show was made in the 60's and recent films would not have been included. Also, what classic western was Reynolds in that would merit being included in a show of only 24 minutes?
@lray19483 жыл бұрын
@@H.pylori When this was made Reynolds had barely progressed beyond occasional TV roles in western and cop shows. His first movie was in 1961 (Angel Baby). His first western was in 1966 (Navaho Joe).
