This hurts me on an emotional and spiritual level.... Cause its true. It really is. I dont think im the only one who felt this way. Like you never got a crash course for being an 'adult' not knowing what it means to be one and yet all of a sudden you are one and youre told you gotta be like everyone else; work, spend, pay bills.... One way i look at this song is bidding farewell to that young part of you. Having to snuff out the inner child to be an adult. It hurts. And it hurts a little bit, thinking of everyone else like me that has and or has had to snuff out or cut out that part of themselves. I would give any part of myself for just a little more time.
