Why harvest the bucks in the spring and not after/or during the rut when they have had the chance to pass on their genes? Was Scotland also affected by the Chernobyl accident so you hunt them because of the Cesium?

Mature bucks have had many years worth of passing on their genes and it’s no bad thing to take them off the hill to let younger ones take their place.
