This is the wave of the future good ‼️ no more dealing with petty studio engineers charging 60 - 100 hr for mid mediocre mixing and mastering services. Plus i rap, produce,mix and master everything my self. This will help with time management. So i can create more instead of stuck on mixing.

Yo I get you. But you’re talking about a person that only calls himself a studio engineer if you got a horrible product. because I see a tsunami of people calling themselves or taking labels they don’t deserve just because technology has gotten better. Hate to be dramatic with an analogy but think about it That’s like going to a third world country because youre dying of cancer and the doctor there you heard from a friend is cheap or is good. Any person that even thinks about it would not go and if they did would research extensively to make sure your risk of dying by the doctor is low. Hate to throw a blow at you but it’s not all real producers and engineers fault that you got taken by an impostor who you believed was an engineer. Did you ask for samples of his music? Did you make the mistake of paying that imposter upfront, did you hear the music at the studio or house or wherever on your personal way of hearing your music and not only on the studio loud speakers before accepting your finished song. Did you shop around first to see what the median price is. I’m from LA and that still sounds a little high for a home studio and not enough for a known or viby studio. I know this because I researched did you? My point is there are real doctors out here and fake ones. That’s your responsibility to find out who’s what. It’s not that hard. So many ways. Shit just ask if you can sit with them on something they’re mixing or another session they have and if they say no or make excuses you wouldn’t still show up for surgery would you. And if they let you sit in you don’t have to be a producer yourself to know if something sounds shitty or if the producer is fumbling having technical issues and making excuses. I’ve been in the industry professionally for over 20 years now. I’ve tested every site from waves with their online mastering all the way to even plugin alliance now in the Ai mastering and I get paid pretty well to test plugins you haven’t heard of because they’re not out yet or didn’t pass quality control. Nothing comes even a quarter of the way to a professional from even the basic engineering to mastering. Because at the end of the day, you still have to start with a really good mix in order for these things to work go ahead and try to put a session you just finished recording into a plug-in or online mastering site. Spoiler…. doesn’t work at all. Where these services or plugins are at this point are not what the companies say they are because if these suppliers continue holding onto that claim, then all these products are fake shiny toys that don’t work. If they call these products for what they really are ….a finishing touch to your already mixed and mastered song, then they are amazing and do exactly that. I master releases that are radio radio I’m not promoting I’m not taking artists. I’m too busy with my own personal music. But my point is, I don’t call myself a master, even then and I know real music Masters with not just experience and plug-ins, but an actual education that don’t even stress for a minute about these services. There’s a caveat because a big word comes after that statement and that is. YET.

Neutron is a good starting point for a mix and if you go in and tweak everything to your taste you can get good results with it.

The way I approach Neutron in particular and machine learning mix tools in general is the same way a big time mix engineer would use his assistant. If you send a mix to say Bob Clearmountain, he's not going to waste his time and creative energy doing grunt work. By the time he's behind the mixing board all he has to do is mix. Neutron is similarly a basic problem solver NOT a finished product creator.

As a Gen X dude? I originally cut my recording teeth on tape and the inherent by gone philosophy of capturing a performance within that medium. Now on a Mac in Reaper or StudioOne? I tend to still approach tracking in the same way. Meaning I typically have things print ready before I hit record. Otherwise I'd be endlessly tweaking plugins and wasting valuable workflow. This new influx of machine learning A.I. mixing plugins however are quite impressive, although I don't exactly know how I personally feel overall about the technology from merely a moral standpoint. Only because I personally value life learned experience over some perfected lifeless algorithm, and I also feel like it's potentially the tiny imperfections within any given performance that makes a composition "feel" human if that makes sense? My background although is mainly in tracking rock instruments ie: Acoustic drums, guitar, bass ect... Yet over the years, as an rental apartment dweller, I've begun to lean more heavily on e-drum triggered drum sample libraries & guitar amp sims. Great video content right here tho Sumn x 3! You definitely covered all the bases and gave a valuable honest opinion in summary. Much appreciation doggins! Peace out!

We do apply EQ and Compression. We also give the option to set the panning and levels because the AI has its own preference and it might not necessarily line up with the musicians expectations.

Honestly these tools should be used as a starting point for someone's mix. Or a polishing tool. Not a set andd forget as they market them. Ozone works really well for that if you set ur levels; and do top down mixing with it.

From my desk number 1 and 3 stood out number 2 is ok for newbies like me they are acceptable. Having these Ai mixes is better than dealing with all these big headed sound engineers. Besides music these days is rubbish anyway

RoEx mixing does a lot better with busses. Buss the drums, instruments, and bass. Still not great it give it 3 years and it will be unreal.
