It's so frustrating it doesn't work because it says taunt (wherever it is) which means that it'll give taunt to it in the deck implying that it would have taunt at that point. It doesn't gain taunt until it enters hand

It's basically identical to what Astral Tiger druid was trying to be but actually good. For those of you who weren't around long enough to remember Astral Tiger, it was a 4 mana 3/5 beast with death rattle shuffle a copy of itself into your deck. It was so bad that it got memed on a lot and was compared to the slightly older Jade Druid.

@@Toast_94 When Kobolds was released I tried making a deck based around Astral Tiger, Bottom Feeder is way more consistent since we have dredge to find it quickly and it buffs itself. Both are fun meme druid decks tho

It is weird that the taunt works differently from the stat boosts to c'thun. Cause you can still double those while he is in deck, but last stand don't recognize him as a taunt.

Normally I’d guess that has to do with the wording specifying a “Taunt minion”. I.e. a minion that inherently has the keyword ability Taunt. But then I took another look at Bulk Up’s wording. It also say “Taunt minion” and works on a Taunted C’Thun. So, yeah, that is a little weird. Maybe it’s a difference of being in deck vs being in hand?

Technically the Cthun in your deck is still a 6/6 by how the game sees it and doesn't have taunt while in hand the game can read it has taunt. another odd example is druid where if they play moonlit guidance and pull a Cthun then play a Cthun it doesn't draw the Cthun from deck

​@@okayyako5047probably stat calculations are done in steps when it's drawn/discovered. So a 6/6 cthun from deck when drawn would then get buffed according to the order of buff it should've received. So you play +2/+2 to cthun battlecry first then lorthar then blacknrock, when drawn it would receive +2/+2 then doubled then +10/+10 in that order. Hence why buff track while card in deck despite only appying after card got in hand

This takes me back a few years to when I had first started playing hearthstone in Whispers of the Old Gods I had a C'thun druid deck that threw out taunt minions to protect a Twilight Elder while it buffed C'thun And it had some ramp so I could Play C'thun early.

C'thun is pretty bugged in my experience. I've been playing some C'thun rogue recently and half the time I draw C'thun, he's just a 6/6 even though I've buffed him. But when I shadowstep him or shuffle copies in my deck, he gets the stats and taunt back. It's really weird and it's lost me a few games.

Pretty dumb that lorthemar doesn't double the stats that cthun gained from your other cards. He was 16/16 before you played double Lorthemar. That SHOULD make Cthun 64/64. Instead, it goes first. 6 - 12 - 24 + 11 stats from your other cards to 35.

Probably a issue with how those stats work. C'thun buffs basically act as a aura effect as far as I know and I'm guessing they aren't applied properly in the deck (just like taunt doesn't really apply while in the deck, see Last Stand failing). I'm assuming this is because there was no need for buffs to apply in your deck when C'thun was originally released.
