ROG Ally: This Portable Monitor does what NO OTHER can do!

I've been looking for a monitor that does 65w pass through charging just like this but with a touch screen. Seems to be a waste using a thunderbolt cable from the ally to the monitor and not being able to use all of its capabilities. I've tried 5 myself now and about to buy another 🙄 on the hunt for that perfect monitor a bit like you 🤣

@@neilamin8607 not really because it’s hard to make videos about them. But I did mention them in an accessory video. I recommend checking out the Xreal Air 2 pro. I use them and they are great for travel. Instead of carrying around a big portable monitor you have glasses that give you a huge OLED screen. Look up some videos

Yes it will work like a regular monitor; just need to connect hdmi cable

There isn’t a portable monitor with all those features sadly, but I’d recommend a 1080p 120hz freesync monitor

Yes. You have to plug the monitor into power and then plug the Switch into the second usb c port with a cable that supports display output. (Not all usb c cables do)

@@BarelyAverageDudeyeah the second one is the one I was looking at. So it doesn’t support turbo mode? Uperfect also makes a monitor specifically for the ROG but it’s $270 and seem overkill for the ally. I plan to order this one you showed in the video.

So question. You plugged a 100w charger into the monitor? And the monitor sends 65w to Ally to enable 30w mode? Also if this is the case are both the monitor and Ally being charged together?

The monitor doesn’t have a battery so it only needs a few watts to power on; it doesn’t need to charge. It’s pretty much just passing power through to the Ally

Do you have a link? On Amazon VX1755 is $229 vs $159 for the one in this video. Also, it mentions that it only does 60w power from the USB C ports. The Ally needs 65w to unlock turbo mode. Are you getting turbo mode with yours?
