"Obviously fighting Muhammad Ali is terrible for your brain." Bigger facts were never spoken.

Not particularly. Muhammad Ali wasn't a big puncher. He knocked out opponents by an accumulation of hits over multiple rounds. The guys were just so exhausted and demoralized in the later rounds that it was easy for Ali to finish them off. Honestly, Ali would be one of the safer opponents to fight in regards to brain damage. It's the Listons, the Fraziers and the Foremans that would be a problem.

fighting George Foreman and using his untested "Rope A Dope" against him was one of the most brilliant and unprecedented moves ever in sporting history.... unfortunately, it really was no good for Alis brain... as well as a three-bout war w Frazier, but mostly that foreman fight changed his life in more ways than one. He paid dearly the last 25-30 years of his life, but the legend goes on forever.

And the people who were affected the worst were not the soldiers that went into combat, it was the military instructors Who are teaching how do use the Explosives.

Some people take shots entirely differently than others. I've always eaten shots like candy. I'm talking horrific shit, like getting jumped and soccer kicked multiple times straight in the face. Not a single concussion. I was given a CAT scan after I got jumped. Just minor bruises and surface cuts. No swelling at all. I got stabbed in the back twice in the same altercation. Someone had to tell me. I thought I had just been punched in the back. Some people get hit and immediately feel everything. For some, it's almost numb until the fight is over and it may never bother them at all. George Foreman is still as sharp as he ever was, if not more so. Your brain was probably telling you the correct decision for you. Not everyone is wired the same.

I've boxed my whole life a d something only boxers know, is some of the best fights are fought during "sparring". I've seen and I've also heard of great boxing matches during sparring. The trouble with boxing is you're trying to beat your opponent by giving the neurological damage. MMA's knockouts are generally safer because it's over much more quickly. Boxing you essentially have to knock your opponent out repeatedly until they can't stand up.

Mike Quarry had 75 pro fights, around 10 more than his brother Jerry. You are mistaken to believe quality of competition makes a difference in how much damage you take in boxing. All pro boxers can hit hard enough to give you a concussion. The main factor in championship boxing that makes it more is the number of rounds. When they shortened title fights to 12 rounds after the death of Kim duk-koo in the 70s it really did cut down on the number of ring deaths.

Sparring is where fighters learn their craft and its also how they tune up for a fight. Sparring is fighting, it's where fighters work their game, make adjustments in real time fight conditions. Pressure blows getting dropped and all. Mike Tyson mentions that there were fighters who kicked the crap out of him in Sparring but couldn't handle the lights of a fight. He also said that a huge event fsuperfight is only different till the bell rings then its JUST LIKE THE GYM. That means whatever battle experiences that occur in the fight have already occurred many times in sparring. I remember Sparring for amateur fights like the golden gloves tourney and I always notice when I stepped in the ring that the floor at our gym had about 10K drops of blood dried up over time. It was a stark reminder that that small piece of real estate is violent and brutal. Muhammad Ali used to offer his Sparring partners large Bonuses if they could knock him out. In today's dollars he would offer $75K if you could finish him. That's not soft playing but warriors preparing for combat.
