At 40 years old, The Who is the only band of the so called classic rock that speaks to me. They were writing songs to fight to, yes, but also songs about not fitting in, and being left out, and being fed up, and the anxieties that come with age. Brilliant band.

@@phillipbarber3648 you are right but who's next were songs for Pete Townsend New rock Opera. Life house he finally put it together a few years ago. But he had a break down from all the pressure. From the record company for a new album. Pete basically told them here. It was the songs that were put on who's next. My wife was John's song. I am a 64 year old man and I became a who freak. Way way back in the middle 60s. When you are like 8 years old and you hear music everyday coming from your sisters room and then my older brother. You end up knowing the truly great rock bands. 5 TIME'S I saw the WHO. Living in north Philly a teenager in the 70s. I saw a lot a lot of the great rock bands. Bruce Springsteen 4 times. But not one band comes close to the who. I will say that green day reminds me of the who. They are in your face somewhat like the who. But no rock band. Is FU music like Pete Townsend and the who.

It's just that I am a 64 year old man. And I have been a WHO FREAK SINCE THE LATE 60S. I wasn't 10 years old and I heard I can see for miles. I just kept playing it over and over. After about a hundred times I got it Pete wasn't talking about seeing. Talking about knowing what you did to me without seeing it. Got older and it's about man and woman cheating on each other. I’ve never been violent, the music deals with all that for me. It’s the straight mainstream audience which can get aggressive I find!
