One thing that strikes me about Roger Daltrey is the fact that every interview I've ever seen with him he is, above all else, a truly genuine human being. He admits to his pecadilos in life but he also honestly cares about others and he manages to do it with humour. In short, a class act. Kudos to Roger Daltrey.

No, he won't end up like Keith even if he dies. What Keith did actually mattered.

There can't be another Keith Moon. Nobody can replace him even if they try. It's impossible.

Such a lovely man Roger, whether you like Justin Bieber or not isn't really the point. Roger saw that he was a young man in too deep with fame who needed help and support, just like Keith did once. It's about human compassion, not necessarily music.

Noble men!!! What a pleasure to listen to Roger and Pete it's very heartwarming!!! They never say anything nasty or mean about any artist, on contrary there's a lot of care and love in what they're saying. God bless both of them!!!

Sorry Roger I think you know that even talking about Bieber or One Direction in the same sentence as The Who is a joke in itself. You are a legend, these others don't even make the cutoff of even being a joke. And yes you know the music HAS died that's why we listen to The Who and other great bands to bring it back.

He's a class act for acknowledging them. He could have said they're crap. But yeah, not even the same league, not even close.

I totally agree with Roger in what he said about the iTunes loss of being forced to by the whole album. I've had many times the same experience he explained where you play the song you bought it for a million times, because it is why you bought the album in the first place. Then there is the other song you just hate. After a while though, you stop hating it and in some cases it becomes your favorite. I bought Breakfast in America for The Logical Song. Now that song is very low on the list of songs that I like on that record. I have songs that I much prefer to listen to that one.

Pete used to be the spoke person for rock in roll from the 60s to, I would say, the 80s, that came to fruition! however I cant help think, Roger has taken the roll of Pete, with good insight, from seeing Rogers interviews of late, it seems to me.

As long as they feel like getting out there to perform, I think they should and would love to be able to see them live. I personally don’t feel like a “farewell tour” is necessary, but to each their own.

I agree with what they said about the music industry. It's not that there isn't good music out there, but the way that music is designed to be consumed these days means that a lot gets lost or unheard.
@GrayWoIf9 жыл бұрын
The Who weren't a full out pop band sure they had a few poppy numbers here and there but songs like My Generation were pretty heavy.
@GrayWoIf9 жыл бұрын
***** Yes but he was saying that they started of as a pop band by the time Tommy, Who's Next, and Quadro were out they where a well established Rock Band. Roger said they started out as a pop band and I found it strange that he said that when their first album had a song like My Generation as the title track which is definitely not pop.
@totalnerdproudlyweird36398 жыл бұрын
+GrayWoIf Also, the definition of pop can change a bit, since it kinda just means the music that's popular. Look at the bill from an old pop festival in like the 60s or 70s, you'll see a lot of stuff you don't think of as pop.
@thebrazilianatlantis1658 жыл бұрын
The expression "pop music" has been used since the '10s, and whatever happens to be most popular at a given time is pop music, and pop music has changed over all those years radically. But lots of The Who's stuff _was_ in the style of pop music of its time. "Reach Out I'll Be There" by the Four Tops and "A Whiter Shade of Pale" by Procol Harum were two of the biggest pop hits in the U.K. in '66-'67. "Happy Jack" and "Magic Bus" e.g. were not outside the pop style of their time.
