I loved to watch Federer and always wanted him to win against Nadal, but truth is that his prime was during the weakest period of men's tennis with Nadal reaching his prime several years after Federer, and his numbers are by far weaker than the GOAT Djokovic (GOAT as human, role model, and as tennis player) and partly even weaker than Nadal's numbers. Furthermore, Federer has a very negative head-to-head against Nadal and an even much more negative head-to-head against Djokovic. Federer just filled the gap between the times of Sampras and Djokovic, that's all.
