Great videos. I still think Roger Federer stepping around a backhand and launching an inside-out crosscourt forehand is the most beautiful thing in tennis, maybe one of the most beautiful things in sports. I remember he hit a ridiculous forehand in the tiebreak against Nadal in the fourth set at Wimbledon that just had me thinking "How does he hit it with so much power while looking so graceful?" It's so incredible to watch him because if how effortless it looks.

The clip starting at 1:45 shows the closest thing that will ever exist to a perfect forehand. That is an absolutely stunning twenty second display of how to get around, wind up, rotate, contact, and follow through on a shot. It's just absurd how perfect looking that is. The word "textbook" doesn't begin to describe it.

Nowadays, there are so much errors coming from his forehand that you feel so disheartened to watch him play like that ... :( I know one day he will retire too but it's such a nice feeling to watch him play ... that you just want to enjoy the ride and you just hope against hope that it will never end ! ;-( Thank you Roger Federer for all the good times ! ;-)

Perhaps the best thing about his forehands is that he's not overstretched at the end of the strokes. A lot of players find it hard to get back in position after playing a master stroke/winner shot. Yet Mr. F calmly executes them and get back in position swiftly to ensure the kill. What do you think?
