Just passing through on my journey to watch every Federer match.

That point at 12:46 from Andy was amazing. Everybody, including Fed thought that point was over, but that was a great pick by Murray

Andy Murray was a great player for the few years he was at the top, great to see. Roger Federer was a great player for 20+ years - amazing to have all the things you need to be a top player lined up for all those years.

Murray's play style brought him his injuries,

If you ever watch the Murray documentary, you'll also see he routinely went WAY too hard in practice on the treadmills and stationary bikes and stair masters. Eventually he just put too much stress on his joints.

No, not hitting an open stance bh, brought him his injuries.

Very slicey roger (dont get me wrong he has the best slice imho). Maybe he wasnt feeling his one hander..
@thomasbrunkle83892 жыл бұрын
Federer really didn't like Murray's toxic pushing style lol. He wasn't going to beat him with how much he was slicing the ball, and especially on such slow dry conditions.

Federer figured Murray out eventually, which is why he has the better H2H. Besides, even when Murray had the better h2h, Federer won their most important matches

Federer was going through a mental crisis at this time until he got back into some form late on in the season. You can see he has little confidence in his top spin backhand here.

He was only good for Wimbledon and the US series.

@lfcizdabest2 жыл бұрын
Yeah Murray just picked at his backhand here. Federer's performance not bad at all otherwise but Murray's returning and constant pushing onto that side made Federer uncomfortable. Very strong tactical performance from Murray to keep gently pressing on the weak point.
