Trey Magness just a synth. the video doesn't show it, but it's actually a tube that runs along the mic, and fits inside your cheek. obviously they perfected the process, but it's kinda hard to do. at least to hold a note. that's why a lot of groups over dub the track for live recording or performance. other examples are; Peter Frampton- show me the way Mötley Crüe- Kickstart my heart.
