This is a video of one of the late Roger Marsh's models, left in his house after his death. It is not known who designed the machine. The original small models for the platform have not been found.
The drive from the very noisy E20R motor is divided into two. One rotates the circular platform via a two speed gearbox. The gear change is operated by an eccentric driven all the time by the motor. The other drives the device that tilts the platform. This drive also slips into two and drives via a differential. One of the drives oscillates the cage of the differential. The other drives one of the shafts which is usually connected to one of the vehicle's wheels. The other shaft drives the device that tilts the platform. This causes the platform to tilt in an irregular manner, stopping and starting every so often. The video shows the three separate parts of the gear mechanism on their own.
The noise from the motor has not been muted.
In the first few clips a screw was loose so that the gear changing mechanism was not working.
