I saw Roger McGuinn and the Headlights on Clearwater Beach back then. Free concert, great concert that I would have gladly paid money to see. Those were the days😎..!

I just discovered this album, after perusing some used CDs at a local flea market, and bought it for $2. I'm very glad I found this! It's a solid album all the way through, and I immediately recognized the opening track, as they used to play it on the radio all the time at my workplace in the 90s. I'm also glad Roger McGuinn is still out there performing!

According to Wikipedia's list of 1991 Tonight Shows, this performance was March 28. McGuinn & the Headlights had appeared earlier on Feb 1 with Carson intro'ing Roger. He sang "King Of The Hill." Carson held up the LP of Back To Rio - heh. And heaped alot of praise after they were done.
@scottdempster48916 жыл бұрын
No, The Jan./Feb show w/Carson was done w/his studio band. He hired the "Headlights" after that performance. We were with McGuinn on the performance of "Someone to Love" @ "Car Phone"...

The Headlights were a kick ass band playing around the Tampa Bay area early-mid 90's. Mix of Huey Lewis & the News, 10 Years After, and The Beatles. Think they were far better without Roger, nothing against him.
