On this day in 1964 {July 11th} Roger Miller performed "Dang Me" on the late Dick Clark's American Bandstand... One month earlier on June 13th it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #7 and spent 11 weeks on the Top 100 chart... It reached #1 {for 5 weeks} on Billboard's Hot Country Singles chart and #3 on the Canadian Country Tracks chart.. Roger Miller passed away on October 25th, 1992 at the young age of 56... R.I.P. Mr. Miller and Mr. Clark...

Looks like Danny Gatton in Roger’s band for this live performance on Austin City Limits. Hope there are more clips from it elsewhere on KZbin. I saw Roger and this excellent band at our county fair in summer 1983
