All very sad. I remember Roger Moore so much as a young lad . He was very popular then. I saw View to a Kill in 1985 in the Philippines some of the movie was of the wall typically of that culture then. Time goes buy. 70's and 80 's best years for me looking back. RIP Roger Moore.

to people saying he was too old to play Bond: I always saw him as a slightly older version of Bond and there's nothing wrong with that. I don't think real life secret agents quit after 50 necessarily.

ah let's be honest, even by his own admission he was way too old to play Bond, nearly 60 ( 57) in "a view to a kill" !!! Connery handed in his 007 badge when he was aged 41. But Roger was a lovely man, generous and much loved within the industry ,always friendly and charming to fans who approached him, he was great in the earlier Bond films, I think its okay to say he was too old in the later films, the films were successful and he kept getting asked back, the wages were good so fair dues to him for doing it, just the way it was then.

Problem is that it wasn't written into the story at all: he was in his late 50s, but everyone was still acting like he was still the young Bond. I like the movie, but they could have done it better by actually writing the fact that Bond is getting old into the movie (like they did with Sean Connery in Never Say Never Again).

Kara Milovy in "The living daylights" should have been played by someone of this interviewer's age for it to have any degree or realism, which was painfully lacking in "A View to a Kill". That's when they decided Rog had had enough.

oo no, he looked so old in 1985 to play Bond. I like all his films as Bond, but I think it would have been better if Roger last Bond was Octopussy, then Dalton began his run in 1985. In this case movie could be ten times better.
@mr.tramber
@mr.tramber 5 жыл бұрын
I think same. Roger really looks in good shape in all his films, expect this. Looking at very intense action scenes in a view to a kill and at his shape, it is not beliveable, that Roger can do these things in such shape.

No Timothy Dalton sucked. A View To A Kill was great as it was. The Dalton movies are unwatchable now. I know, I saw them both recently and could barely finish them. No humor and totally boring.

@Wadsy It was intense with Roger Moore. It would have been boring as hell if Dalton had played the role in this film.
@ferabra8939
@ferabra8939 5 жыл бұрын
Roger's last Bond film should have been "Moonraker". "For your eyes only" was the perfect one for Dalton to step in. Dalton would have been an excellent 80s Bond in all Rpger's 80s movies.
@ΜακηςΛ-ε5ρ
@ΜακηςΛ-ε5ρ 5 жыл бұрын
alex tramber Except that he is 58 years, his era of comedy - parody, has finished with ''Octopussy''. I agree that this film must have been his last. Moore, especially from ''The Spy Who Loved Me'', was the right man at the right time. Εven he looked old in ''Four Your Eyes Only'' and ''Octopussy'' is still in his era.
