I would like to offer the very brief notion that academia is cognitively limited by the neural architecture by which it is directed/governed and produces. Heading toward the "event horizon of the technological singularity" at an exponential rate, this presents not only a critical problem for the scientific, academic communities and "AI" engineers "who are a product of said system) but also mankind. Limited, by definition, precludes the necessary cognitive apparatus for original thought required to solve the presenting problem.
