I love Roger’s backing vocals in “Somebody To Love.” Especially during the finale, when he is using his tongue, in and out, to create that fullness of sound, behind Freddie. It cracks me up, when Roger rears back and spits, up in the air. After seeing that, I learned that singers do that because they don’t have time to swallow and breathe before singing their next part. You can see that in a video entitled Roger Taylor Best Moments at Queen Rock, in Montreaux, 1981. He is wearing a black Guess shirt and a light colored bandana, John in all blue, turquoise, Brian in a flowy white shirt, black vest. It is one of Freddie’s best performances of STL, also.

High school days! I had a big crush on Sting and Bono then Phil Collins. A friend (V) had a crush on Simon Le Bon and another (E) with Roger Taylor. V and I didn’t know much about RT so we tried to get to know him through magazines. We ended up having a crush on RT, too. How crazy!
