Roger, I love you and will always believe that your dad was a hero in my book. I am a veteran myself and know what combat is like. This video made me cry because it reminded me of my dads funeral. I also will always believe that you are the best writer and musician that has ever lived, no one will ever be on the same level as you...ever! I love you for the existence of Pink Floyd and there will never be another band, to me, that will ever come close to you guys! Pink Floyd has been, is and always will be the best band in the world...ever! I am so sorry for the loss of your father.

Grazie Roger.

I'm so glad that Roger was finally able to get some closure on the death of his father. Many artists find their muse in drugs and alcohol, but Roger found his through his father. Without that bitterness that he carried throughout his life surrounding the circumstances of his fathers military service and untimely death, we wouldn't have the wonderful catalog of music from him. I'm sure his father is smiling down proudly on his son.

Roger is awesome. He cares about Palestine as well. And no, he isn't an antisemite. He is just pro human rights. A lot of people give him shit for the break up of PF as if it were just him. Many call him an egotistical asshole. Nothing could be further from the truth. This is a man who has been writing songs about war for like 50 years. He obviously hurts. He has mentioned in several interviews that a veteran stopped him at a concert and told him his dad would be proud of him. Well of course he would but I guess he needed to hear it.

Incredible human being. Roger Waters unfortunately gets a lot of unfair comments when he left Pink Floyd. Just look at this video, the love and respect he has for his father and all those that fought in WW1 and WW2. His human rights campaigns and just good old honest love he wishes on the world. I’m sick of hearing all the whining from the cry babies who still haven’t come to terms with the Roger leaving the band. That’s 36 years ago...time to grow up. Respect Roger for what he has contributed to this world...his music and his lyrics will live on forever.

This is the "about" translated in English::: He was only five months when Roger Waters lost his father. Eric Fletcher Waters disappeared in one of the bloodiest battles of World War II after the landing of Anzio and Nettuno, in the battle of the Ditch Moletta, near Aprilia. It was February 18, 1944 and his body was never found. Today, exactly 70 years ago, the founder and leader of Pink Floyd for the first time visit the exact spot where his father fought. Just a few months ago in fact, the British veteran Harry Shindler, now 92 year old, who fought the battles for the liberation of Rome, was able to find the unpublished documents preserved in London. From the notes of a British commander was thus possible, thanks to the coordinates marked on the war diary, go back to the exact spot where he was camped on the eighth battalion of the Royal Fusiliers.

I am glad that Roger had the chance to do this, as he's over 70, and may possibly not have that many more years to live (just like none of us never knows what's round the bend). He hopefully can now heal and come to full terms and get closure, like ALL of us should endeavour to do, before our lives are over (since then it's too late).

All too often, the wretches who start these kind of wars don't get their just deserts. Even if they get any form of mortal justice, by then thousands, or more, will have payed the price...and their loved ones will still keep paying. For the record, I'm a vet, and the son of a vet. The soldier is willing to lay down his life to defend the ideals he or she believes in. Eric Fletcher Waters was one of those people. There is a certain radio show on NPR that I absolutely boycott because they took the cheap shot of calling Roger Waters putting the names and pictures of KIAs on "The Wall" during his tour a cheap shot. Those people deserved to be remembered, and Roger actually ASKED the loved ones of these soldiers in order to honor their sacrifice. I hope he will find some closure...I'm certain if the elder Waters were alive, he'd be proud of his son.

Roger still carries a lot of pain, not just for his father, but for the injustices perpetrated by our governments today. Yet, he could have avoided treating his fellow Pink Floyd members like shit. I hate both of them, the ones who cried their boys after they sent them deliberately killing strangers and those who planned war!!!! I hate their memorials, memories ...I hate their photographs on walls..their names in books...they're not heroes....but killers...! the only time I can drop a tear for someone is for the children they left....who suffer more than anyone else...and never understood why daddy left home..and what did he leave behind for them!!! I grew up listening to Waters music...with years I shared his pain and suffer...I lost my father too, not in war but felt what he endures as well .... living as an orphan while we didn't ask for...!! and the responsible ones lived in satin and joy. while they polish their medals and sharpen their smile... my heart with you Roger....and I'm very happy you finally got a memorial for your daddy...! you suffered enough.

Pare chiedesse sempre a sua madre, del ritorno del padre, che purtroppo non avvenne mai. Questo potrebbe essere uno dei motivi che ha segnato la vita di Roger Waters, la sua sensibilità artistica ed il suo percorso musicale.

Do they expect us to treat them with any respect? They do indeed. But we have none to give them. But that's who they are. Every name mentioned in that song is so full of themselves that they actually kill others and then expect us to treat them with honor. Thank you, George Roger Waters, for showing me that just because society expects us to honor our leaders that it doesn't mean we should. Because every name mentioned in this song, Nixon, Thatcher, Reagan, Haig, McCarthy, Brezhnev, as well as people who would do similar after this, from Bush I and II to Blair, Trump, Clinton, Obama, Netanyahu, Blair, Brown, Cameron, and every other colonial waster of life and limb have no sympathy, no empathy, nothing in their heart but a desire to kill for political gain (or in the case of the Bush family, personal profit). RIP Eric Fletcher Waters
