Good vid, good fishing. Finally getting a week on the beach myself next week. The tides are poor and the conditions are average with low swell and not ideal beach formations. But i reckon small plastics on light line might just be the go to fool the likely fussy fish!

Awesome video Roger ! I was just beginning to explore soft plastics on the beach when covid hit town and those ideas got shelved but watching your video has reminded me of that idea ! I was beginning to play around with Gulp sand worms on a sort of weird paternoster rig or dropper rig as the worms are quite small and don't fit on the size jig head needed for the surf . By using this rig I can use a big enough sinker to get the casting distance and it leaves the worm to float around naturally .

Love the video, Roger. Not really related but wondering if you were targeting say Mulloway or gummy shark would you still cast into wash on edge of drop off or would you cast into a deep gutter? Cheers Dave
@RogerOsborneFishing Жыл бұрын
Mulloway like relief from strong currents, so I think drop offs are good. It is good to cast in all places in search of the fish

G'day Roger - once again, an enjoyable and informative video. Your surf videos have rekindled my desire to get back into beach fishing, and the idea of soft plastics in the surf has been on the drawing board for some time - but I've yet to find the ideal rod. That one you use in this video looks to be the bees' knees. Can I ask what it is?

Great to watch mate, thankyou for sharing your knowledge 👍 May i ask a question, i use 10lb braid generally with a 8-12lb fluorocarbon leader but it constantly breaks at the join on the braid side. It doesnt matter which knot i use to join the two. Mainly do soft plastic and lure fishing. Maybe I'm just casting too hard 🤣 Cheerz Roger

Mate those plastics could be good when short of time or no beach worm bait! Can you use them in rougher surf? Do you just use a heavier weight?
