Using the circles to show where the bait hits the water is an awesome idea, perfect!

100%. I was always of the opinion i had to get way past the breakers to hit the money spot. But when Roger shows us where he lands, it doesn't have to be chucked out that far.

Absolutely nothing to do with a parallel bank, but I went fishing today for the first time in years. Shaving Point at Metung, VIC. Tried prawn and squid…. Nothing doing. Predatory fish came through and started chasing baitfish in close. Luckily an anchovy got pushed onto shore. I stuck it through the jaw and head and threw it out. Bang! Salmon on. I fought but it got off right in front of me. So, squid as a long strip like a fish.. got one. Great fun, 35cm or so, on 4lb line on a little rod. So much fun. You have really invigorated my love for fishing Roger. Cheers.

Nice deep gutter. Thanks for these incredible and humble clips that take me to my favourite beaches and make me feel like I am already there ...fishing (while I'm still far away at work and home). Sorry for photo bombing further up the beach as that cool stormy weather moved in. Lost a nice salmon in the tumbling rough waves before it got to shore that day. Thank you for serving us Roger with your wisdom and helping us imagine we are there with you getting our feet wet. I can almost smell the bait! Cheers, Andrew

First time back from a long hiatus and this beach tutorial video is as educational as always - Well Done Roger!!! The fundamentals principal here can be applied to anywhere and everywhere in the world - just swap to the local bait of choice. A good refresher course for me as I am preparing to hit the shore for this year Snapper season down here in cold wintry Victoria :)

@bodostez29 күн бұрын
Hey Roger, some videos ideas that I’d love to see would be you catching the squid or mullet before your live bait session. Or maybe using metal lures off the rocks or beach 👌👌

Good to see some big baits while you're fishing for bread and butter fish too. We all know it's a lot of work and a waiting game but the payoff is well worth it. Keep up the good work we can't wait for that big run.

Thank you so much Roger I have a quick one, i just recently bought a 14ft nano carbon 3pc surf rod, i havent used it yet as it is all very new to me, does anyone here have any knowledge/advice or experience with nano carbon rods and how to handle them?

Great video as usual Roger….I was wondering whether you processed the stingray you caught in a recent video and how the cook up went?
@RogerOsborneFishingАй бұрын
Yes I did, a few of us ate it. It was OK but I don't think Ill do it again. Fish is better. They eat plenty of Stingray in the U.S
@ChristopherBoadenАй бұрын
The waves breaking on the outer sandbank, and then running as ‘white horses’ to the shore before breaking again … does anybody else still call them that? Man, the bluebottles were thick on the beaches between Ulladulla and Batemans over the weekend. Keep the Stingose handy at those times, it works better the quicker you apply it, and you don’t want to have to go rooting through your bag for it once you’re stung.

You seem to catch a lot of salmon over there. Here on the west coast we mainly get Taylor, whiting, herring and muloway. Bream mainly in rivers. Dhu fish, scnapper groper and coral trout off shore. Not so much salmon up Midwest coast
