@27.40 the gritty voice coil. Carefully cut the centre cap off , and with a vacuum hose sook out the bits from the centre coil , you will be amazed at how much of the "grit" is pieces of rust and white metal tarnish that's come off the basket and been drawn through the suspension concertina. And sometimes the coil is just melted from rock music through a midrange driver in a Diddy cabinet. Worth a try. Before binning it .

@@AndrewNeilBaird You must have watched one of my other videos 🤣. Yeah all tried. Knackered

@haycrossaudio5474 if you get the black quick set golf club makers epoxy , with a nicotine syringe from the vape shop, you can make a pin hole in the kef delamination around the centre caps and inject the resin , holding the magnet you can with wrist rotation , slowly ease the glue round the "white belly" portion and it sets in about 3 to 4 minutes. It really helps tighten the speaker up and piano chords about 600hz are greatly improved by not being so ringy.

Your HA-3/6s look stunning! The Bextrene cones on those B110s seem to be prone to cracking with age and exposure to UV, so it's probably a blessing in disguise that the coil was done for.

I inject 5minute epoxy underneath the cone skin round the dust cap when they separate . Done with a syringe and only a tiny wee bit it works a treat .

Are the HA-3/6 related to the Spendor BC1? They look pretty similar.
@haycrossaudio5474 Жыл бұрын
@@veraluxmundi2032 Yes I'm following the tweeter, super tweeter design. The HA3/6 is smaller than a BC1 but my HA3/8 will be the same size as the BC1
@briancampbell77129 ай бұрын
@@haycrossaudio5474 that's nice that the HA38 will be the same size as the BC1...will it have the super tweeter and will yours sound as good or better than the BC1...because the BC1 is highly praised... hopefully you would be the only person I know that can bring that kind of sound back...

Yeah same combo as the HA3/6

Those seem like pretty broad tolerances?

Pretty much all within 5%. The tiny 330nF and 680nF within 10%. Nothing wrong with any of the capacitors or inductors. Just need to replace the resistors

@@haycrossaudio5474 I've inherited an old pair of 15ohm Rogers LS3/5A and I'm in love with them. They sound amazing, holographic, addictive. They have probably drifted out of spec and sound a little brighter (and more open) than an in-spec 11ohm pair used for comparison. Is there any easy way in the crossover to bring down the treble output slightly? Thanks.
