They were using this piano in more percussion styles than just banging on the keys... I saw direct string percussing and drumming on the side of it. AND they were using it as a string instrument too. Plucking strings and using the hair from a bow... .. Props for 215% piano utilization

@@jeanperry4550 indeed it is! But I don't think a harpsicord is. They both have keys and the bodies can be similar, but the strings are plucked, which inthink would make it a string instrument.

Incredibly creative!. A radical departure from what the piano is traditionally supposed to be capable of producing musically. The beat from plucking the strings, percussion from hands on the wooden body, playing it like a violin - so much going on here, and so tight. Excellent - kudos to the Rogers gang.

Mono Ped Thx for your reply. Yes, I am very much aware that the piano is a percussion instrument and the keys are meant to be ‘struck’. But a bit unusual to apply other means of making music. I enjoyed the rendition. This probably dates me, but Ferrante and Teicher might have introduced this style of getting the most out of piano percussion applications other than the keys. I hear a very well thought out concept for an unusual concept to use a concert grand piano. I hear a lot of love for the individual details of an already basic good composition, which was transferred into the king instrument of all range and parallelism. Guitar can play 6, Grand can play 88 parallel notes. We will never hear something like that from one or two or three guitars, nor from 10 guitars. They simply can't. Thank you! That's how music goes.Did you see the strings?
