Not sure if having something always in bloom is something you strive to but checked out if UK orchid nurseries have it and Burnhams has as a seedling on the site. Name: Prosthechea cochleata var cochleata. Should do well at your place as well cause it says can go down up to 12°C.. Every new growth means new flower spike . It should be fragrant (up close or a bit further if humidity+sun are high) if the environment is appropriate and plant isn't too dry (yes I fry mine during summer with almost midday sun and it still grows like crazy and doesn't bleach.. Con: Thrips love it ..) Bought mine as no id and from find corner bitten by thrips. The flowers truly are unusually yellow (compared to other prosthechea) and plentiful cause it keeps popping new growth before the old are done flowering. There.. done rambling and sharing. =D Best of luck and health.

crinitum is one of the easier to grow Zygos, it doesn't object highly if it goes dry between watering and it tends to create new roots over a long period as the growth pushes on. It does have a tendency to climb so you may have to bury bulbs as it grows (and I definitely recommend burying them as needed rather than removing them).

think you said if primary cross is man made it starts with a capital letter and no 'x' in front of it as opposed to naturally occurring primary hybrid with the 'x' and lower case letter

The 'x' signifies it 'can' occur in the wild. No orchids should be from the wild so all crosses should now be man-made.

Make sure that you get brass or galvanised screws, not steel (which will eventually rust). 🪛🪛🪛

We had forecast of 2 degrees last night... but i think it might have been less than that as the grass in the fields was frozen this morning when i was out with the dog. My cymbidiums were moved to the garage for the night. By the way your garden looks amazing as a backdrop

I have one miniature Cym but it's only mini in leaf width, in circumference they are just as big. I may get some cascading ones they tend to stay a bit smaller and they need to hang, so they don't take up floor space

The giants are for sale everywhere but the true miniatures don't come up often.

As an engineer I really think longer screws aren't gonna last. You really need fatter ones long but fatter

Later that day (Sunday) we moved the staging to clean up and the same castor broke again - reason, the screws failed. These screws must be made of some cheap weak alloy. I will need to get all the screws replaced with some thing more suitable. The weight of the Disa tray is now on the floor not on the staging.

Can you tell if they have rust on them? Sometimes even stainless steel will rust. I have seen it many times. One metal that doesn't rust is aluminum. But they might be too weak like you said. That's really why you want a fat fastener. I am just wondering if they were rusty. I almost suspected so.
