Line, fill, or picture? Cardboard can be fickle, depending on composition. Also, generally low power and a faster speed. Otherwise, you may end up with a fire!

Are you able to send the job from the computer and then turn the computer off while it's running, and have you ever tried doing cups with the Rotary ?

No, not directly. To run stand alone, the gcode must be loaded onto the micro SD card. I do not use a rotary on this laser, but it would work the same as I do with others. I have expanded this laser to 850mm x 850mm and dedicated it to large signs.@@dennybaker6264

I want to ask you if you had constant power on plywood engraving.. I also have a sculpfun s10 10w and my problem is that even an engraving is black when I stain it after with a foam brush most of the engraving is wiped of.. 😢do you have any solution?!

Always make the first coat a spray finish, allow to dry, then you can use a brush on. This prevents the black from engraving from spreading or smudging.

@@rogersshop I have also a sculpfun s9 5.5w and I have never had any problem with the engraving coming off.. the laser spot of it is the same as with longer ray 5 10w (0.06x0.06) that's why I wonder if the engravings will be the same as my 5w s9..

also spraying is time consuming.. there isn't any other possible way to keep the sout from fading?!

@@Georgeprospero a wax dip. Even more time consuming. I do projects in batches, so spraying is the least time consuming part and when doing batches, I do not use spray cans. HVLP.

Not without a coating. Even then, it will etch,, but not engrave. To actually engrave, you would need a fiber laser.

The squealing is coming from the mid bar that was already assembled upon shipment. Maybe called the home bar? I thought it might be the wheels but it may be the belt?

When putting together I noticed that when installing the two set screws in the back of the laser bracket it will not go down far enough to do the adjustment, it will not lower far enough to touch the setting tool what am I missing?

As I recall (risky at my age), there are two sets of mounting holes on the back.

When I watch videos about things I do not have much experience with , my eyes glaze over and my ADD kicks in and I quit. I would like to know for the beginner Hobbyist What is the real difference between a 5w laser vs a 10w laser, I understand there are tons of opinions on brands etc. I intend to engrave mostly, cutting has not been something I have given much thought, Is having the capability to cut thicker material something that will present itself as my skills grow?

If all you are doing is engraving, then a 5 Watt is fine. Note that 10 Watt and higher are getting to be the "norm" as this technology has come a long was in just the past couple of years. A 10 watt will engrave at a faster speed than a 5 watt and still give the same end result.

Laser Ray5 is not an option on lightburn. do you have any suggestions on how to connect my laptop to the laser ray5??

If your computer is not seeing the laser, you can add it manually
