Out of these 3 wins, only one came at the big tournament. 1 came at the masters 500 event, and 1 in the round robin of atp finals, only to be avenged soon after that. Kind of describes their rivalry perfectly, interesting matches, great clash of styles, but if it's a final or a semifinal of a big tournament, odds are Djokovic is going home with a smile.

Novak was a nobody until 24.He luckily won Aus Open at 20 only because Rodge was suffering from Mononucleosis. If not for Nadal Rodge would have galloped almost everything between 2003-2010. Between that period only Rafa was Roger's worthy opponent and so they have more respect towards each other. Until 2010 Rodge vs Novak was 10-3 & Rafa Vs Novak was 19-4. Till the time Fed was in his 30s two young Nole & Rafa in their 20's took charge but same cannot be said when Nole turned 30. Nole took full chance of the Dull or so called "Lost Generation" of Raonic,Nishikori,Dimitrov etc in the 2010s to take up him Slam tally. Even in 2015 Nole lost 6 matches our of them 3-4 were to a 35 year old Federer.A almost 38-39 year Fed was about to win Wimbledon-2019.After that match Fed practically played 1% clearing the path of Nole completely. When Fed won his 20th Slam in 2018 till than Nole had 12 Slams.Nole didn't get a worthy competitior ( except a fragile Nadal ) until the arrival of Alcaraz and Sinner who started to whip his ass out since 2023 only. Now Noletards will come up with weak Fed beginning era. Fed had to deal with Ferrero,Agassi,Roddick, Safin,Heweitt all of them were Slam Winners some even multiple times. You can't compare a Heweitt to a Raonic. Simple.

By the same logic, Nadal is extremely weak, since he played in the same era and is only 1 year older than Djokovic, but Djokovic performed overall better than Nadal.

@@factsrecorderjohn5800 In 2006 and 2007, Nadal reached the Wimbledon final. Also won at least in 2007 and 2008 a hard court Masters Series. He reached another hard court Masters Series final in those years. In 2005 he won an indoors Masters Series. In 2008 he won Wimbledon, in 2009 he won Australian Open. In 2010 he won Wimbledon and the US Open. In 2011 he reached finals of almost all grand slams, with the exception of the Australian Open. Those results are amazing for someone, who is just a "clay court player". They are much better I would say than hard court specialists like Roddick or Blake. Not to mention that Nadal wasn't even 20 years old yet in 2005 and at the beginning of 2006.

Federer at 36-8YO was still beating Djokovic/ Nadal. Whilst Nadal and Djokovic at 36/37 YO are struggling to beat average top 10 players consistently. If Djokovic wasn't around Federer could have played until 40YO, Nadal and Djokovic just aren't ageing as well.

Its hard to say, who was the most talented or the best player ever. The most succsessful player was ND. But that doenst mean being the best. Between ND and RF were anyways years (age). RF played almost in another aera. He won most titles at US Open and Wimbledon of all. Novak in my opinion is the player with most stability. His play is very stable but boring. But most efficient. That counts as well. RFs play was various and beautiful. For me there is just one fact. Nadal is the best and most succsessful player on sand ever.

It is crazy how Fed can be this good vs. Djokovic on fast courts and "smaller" tournaments, and then completely falter in Grand Slams. Why he couldn't keep on attacking in best of 3 matches is still beyond me.

To add context to why this doesn't matter. Novak followed up the ATP 500 dubai loss by beating Roger in the masters 1000 Indian wells final two weeks later, followed up the Cincinnati masters 1000 lost by beating him in the US Open final two weeks later, and followed up the round-robin ATP finals loss by beating roger in the finals of the ATP finals to win the title. (Not to mention beating roger in the Wimbledon final too). So regardless Novak won when it mattered and won more.
