I know you've moved on from this tent, I bought one based on your video. Right price point for me and awesome quality. I'll just say one thing for anyone who finds your video. When you're packing it up you mention an issue of it getting stuck...this to me is a positive as it allows me to tuck in all the side material prior to getting the front pole down...Makes it SO much easier to get the cover on and not have to shift material around as you're doing the zip up.

I was going to get a kings rtt. I didn’t because I personally know people who had the kings for a couple of years using it intermittently and they were falling apart and said they wouldn’t buy another & convinced me not to get one. My partner I was with for 10+ years had a Darche panorama 2 which was awesome and was used quite a bit with no issues - I couldnt afford that much being an extra $800+ to the 23Zero. The 23zero offered the quality of the Darche at a way less price and yes I had to save up a bit longer to get the 23Zero compared to the kings. I was in talks with 23Zero for a while before I got the tent as I was unsure if I wanted a rtt or another swag (was using a kings swag for 4yrs before I got the rtt which has been awesome for the price there is still no issues with it however I wanted more ‘living’ space and was sick of mesh hitting me in the face when I slept from the saggy sides). 23Zero answered every question I had thoroughly and never made me feel like I was being pain with all my questions. In the end I ended up ordering the 23Zero Dakota and 2x Bandit 1100 swags for the kids as early Xmas presents & they threw in the boot holders for the rtt. I waited 4 months for the rtt because of supply issues with covid but it was worth the wait. My partner and I have been sleeping in the 23Zero RTT almost every night since September 2020, in my parents back yard as rental houses are so hard to get atm with a 3% vacancy rate where I live - it’s gets setup every afternoon and packed up every single morning before I head off to take the kids to school. So far no issues except the Velcro that holds the sides down when packed up is starting to go fuzzy so is losing its stickiness - probably due to my user error as I got lazy and wasn’t using the d buckles correctly to hold the tent together and would just pass it through around and down instead of threading properly through the d buckles for tension and issue 2 has been the LST has slightly peeled off the canvas where the awning pole folds up in the tent and the black clips have rubbed against it. Living in NQ we have had some torrential downpours and no leaks. Extremely happy with the tent, the price and the customer service from 23Zero. I am with Paul and say the extra $500 is worth it compared to the kings.

Roof racks on your car? Check the load capacity of your particular vehicle with your dealer to make sure your roof racks can handle the weight aswell as the website of the brand roof racks you have to check out their load limits. But it is possible. It makes sense to put the weight in the middle of the car to even out the weight evenly over the vehicle increasing your cars handling. Just run those checks first 👍

@Campingdownunder4 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately when it's windy there's not a lot you can do at night to get more sleep. But I prepare by packing anything away that will keep me up all night wondering if it will survive the wind. I fold up my awning, pack anything loose away and close all the windows on the rooftop tent. I also use ezyanchors to hold everything down so I don't need to worry about pegs lifting & not holding during the night. You still hear the wind flapping the rooftop tent but at least you have peace of mind which makes it easier to zone out & forget the noises

This 23zero is still a soft top rooftop tent. The main advantage to this rooftop tent is the layer of lst on the inside making it slightly cooler inside and pitch black. Every soft top on the market flaps in the wind unfortunately. But yes although only camp king truly stops all flapping it is quite large on the roof. But in saying that I can fit 100% of my bedding inside at all times. It's the only rooftop tent that I'm aware of that uses solid poles to tension the awning rather than just the typical spring poles everyone else uses which still causes flapping

It takes about 5 minutes to pack up and setup. It does get annoying settings it up each day when travelling but unless you want to spend around $4,000 minimum on a hard lid rooftop tent every rooftop tent with a soft top takes the same amount of time to pack up.
