Well her mutant power allows her to copy strength speed abilities and other powers so she even if she reamains the same in form, she can act like the copied victim and do pretty much what they can do. ( I guess Wolverine has his claws as an advantage )

I think it’s doable in a modern fighting game. Dragonball Fighterz has a pretty similar gimmick with Android 21. Granted, they gave her several groups for move stealing instead of a unique attack for every fighter. But still.

Aside from the most common reason mentioned for Rogue not doing this in MvC2 (too many other characters), there’s another reason: How would she copy special moves that only involve weapons? Examples: Hayato: Would she suddenly get his plasma sword and do Shiden (forward slash), Guren (DP/anti-air), or would she just get something that looks like one of his plasma combos, except with her fists? Cable: The only thing that would make sense is Psimitar. Otherwise she would need Cable’s actual guns or grenades. Jill: Maybe her “Charging S.T.A.R.S”? Speaking of which… Captain America: Either Charging Stars or Stars and Stripes without his shield. Other interesting choices: Venom: Her version of Venom Fang would be interesting. Otherwise Venom Rush would be easier to animate. Strider: Plenty of possibilities here: bird, tiger, or single orb. Excalibur dash in the air would also work. Silver Samurai: Shuriken’s the only thing that would work here. Ruby Heart: Pretty much any of her moves could work. Ghosts, her controllable dashes, the water wave from the ground. Captain Commando: Captain Corridor!!!

214 (or Reverse Fireball motion) or ⬇️↙️⬅️ and any punch to kiss. When the kiss lands, I think it’s 236 (fireball motion) or ⬇️↘️➡️ and any kick to use the stolen power. (except for Akuma’s Raging Demon, which is the usual Jab Jab ➡️ short fierce)
