Don't forget the husband that's like don't ask me ask the boss and she has an opinion about everything and I mean everything so end of job comes and you ask her for the money and she says sorry you will have to wait for my husband to come home he deals with that and he's working away till next week lol

Yes. This would actually be such a good idea. Also, these "Van sessions" should be a weekly thing, this was too funny

Great trick my Dad used to use with the posh non-payers. Turn up in a big old van with "Debt Collectors" painted on the side, park it outside their door where everyone can see it. Usually worked first time.

In the USA builders can put a Tax Lien onto a property if they fail to get paid.....it's cheaper to do than a trip to court....but.....you only get paid when and if the property is sold or someone tries to re-mortgage it....or someone inherits it.....You will get it....when is the question......better late than never I suppose. Perhaps we in the UK could have the same. Insurance can also be taken out on the build.....it's expensive...but you and your customer can both be reassured that if either party fails to build or pay you will be covered...and the cost of the insurance premium factored into the build.

Some of those programs are complete bull. I remember one where they said the customer was left with dangerous wiring in their new extension, amongst other things. The builder had walked out after the first fix, so of course there were bare wires sticking out everywhere, but none were connected to the consumer unit.

I think a rogue customer show is a great idea as we all have bad customers in every business. I was in the grocery store the other day and an old lady was returning a jar of dill pickles. She wanted her money back. there was only one pickle left. She told the store owner, they were too sour. LOL

"While you are here, can you just......?" Not at beer O'clock on a Friday love. This is the best price and witten quote from my plumbers merchant for a boiler, flue, mechanical clock, magnetic filter, scale filter and chemical treatments. Customer takes it round every other plumbers merchant in town and haglles down. Only takes him 4 hours. But customer doesn't actually show each salesperson the previous printed off quote that he has obtained. Customer comes back all smiles with a cheap Itie boiler, but no clock no filters and no chemicals. "I've just saved £300 on your quote!" To which my reply is...."Well fit your bloody self then!" as i stroll casually and laughing manically towards the door.
