He's got plenty of time to work on deadlift and dumbells now. No doubt he will be like a man possessed at WSM next year.
@leonardowilhelm10293 жыл бұрын
I'm not even sure I'd call it an "off day". Had he completed his third log lift at the pace he was, which was clearly slower and shakier than his usual, he would have taken 2nd place in the medley. He did excellent at the Wheel of Pain. He simply looked tired. We all know why he was tired. Had he not been knackered, I suspect he would have lifted the 274 and 280 dumbbells, and would have deadlifted around 900 lbs. I suspect he would have got the 400 lb inver stone too, maybe even all 5.
@the_snowball37183 жыл бұрын
@@leonardowilhelm1029 Not even on a good day Luke can pull 900lbs , his limit is probably around 870-880lbs.

I think Luke needs to widen his grip slightly on the deadlift.... literally just an inch or so on each hand. It might make it a bit harder off the floor but should eliminate that "shrugging" at the end.

Plus the prize money would be stretched out further if adding more than 10 guys, which I'm sure those original 10 wouldn't be too happy about.

Congratulation on an amazing competition for you both! Just wanted to throw my "KZbin Comment Expert" advice in, but on the stones, you can see the savvy/tricks that Martins used that Tom didn't. First, he had a massive belt on which stuck out enough that the squarish stones sat on the edge and allowed him to fire it up without much adjustment, he also took the time to really wipe down all the stones to remove any residue or moisture. Tom did the event 'clean' without a belt and was more relying on his technique and brute strength, were as Martins ha this little advantage. Just something to think about. There's a lot of these 'veteran' tricks and techniques that people are using that aren't being done, partly why Brian Shaw was able to run Tom so close in the WSM, something to consider adding in to your prep before events as they can make a massive difference as shown. Again, huge congrats on all your success this year, not saying you have done anything wrong, just the standards you continue to set could be even higher. Amazing work lads.

Luke I want to see YOU win WSM 2022. You have the strength. I saw Martin Licis and Oleski both training specifically for the Rogue. As a veteran POWERLIFTER and trainer can I suggest making EVERY WORKOUT more "EVENT-CENTERED"? That's the approach Hafthor, Licis, Mateaus and Oleski take. Luke I don't mean any disrespect to Dan but I think he's not the best trainer for you. You need a trainer/coach who is more PRESENT AT EVERY WORKOUT and who can help you with your form and technique. LUKE YOU'VE DONE AN AWESOME JOB TRAINING TOM. NOW YOU NEED A "HANDS ON" TRAINER/COACH TO HELP YOU WIN AT THE WORLD LEVEL. I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT. GOOD LUCK.

Boys, very curious your thought on a “raw” strongman meet? If you organized a meet no straps or wraps allowed, only belts… would that be a WILD show? I feel seeing the “realistic” lifts that athlete could get without suits etc would be intriguing. Stuff the records and insanely high weight lifts, what about events that test the raw strength of each athlete? Its been on my mind. Safety is key though. Don’t want to see injuries ever

Well done both of you, good earnings for you both, good publicity, so a win, win👍🏻💪🏻 Like most of us “experts” in the comments section, heres my take on it🤣 I think Luke’s recovery, being 10 years older than Tom, is obviously not as good, hence the lack of pop in some of the events, but as ever, you never gave up.To compete in Brits a few days before and then fly for around 2 days is really hard on the body.Don’t be disappointed, mate, you can take positives from it and can also learn from it and concentrate on your shoulder and bicep rehab over the winter. As for Tom, i personally think this is one of your best performances of any comp iv seen you in! I really didn’t think you would place this highly, as you had just won the Brits and like i said, the ridiculous travelling and jet lag is not easy to deal with, as anyone who flies long distance will know! You confirmed what i thought about the stones, you didn’t seem to be going for it as hard as you normally do, and i thought you didn’t as you didn’t think you could win it overall. Still though, an amazing performance on a lot of events that you’ve never done before.Very, very impressive. Enjoy your rest time and I’m really looking forward to seeing you both rested and recovered next year. Its been a great 2021.....Worlds strongest man and Europe’s strongest man😎💪🏻

I will say this about the rogue invitational you both performed excellently from coming off a good competition a week earlier Tom obviously is the world’s strongest man so he needed to put on a great show and he did just that, I think in the back of his brain he doesn’t want to let everyone around him down so puts everything in to anything he does, it’s nice to see someone as passionate as Tom, but then there’s Luke a very dedicated person who having an opportunity to be a full time strongman has taken that opportunity and made the very best out of it and the results speak for themselves,however there is a small clock in the background telling him your getting close to peeking in age where it really matters (and I don’t mean that in any negative way I like to watch both the lads do well) but we have to be realistic yes you could potentially go on in strongman for a very long time and I hope you do but in the now you are in the best stages of your career winning shows getting big titles and I believe that with the best prep and concentration for wsm Luke will be a wsm winner in the next couple of years, you both have the best team around you and everyone that follows you all want you to do the best you possibly can and show the world what the name STOLTMAN is keep on being who you are you have respect and admiration from a lot of people keep on keeping on 💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪
