You guys did a great job on this video ....especially the editing. I liked the commentary........I also liked the time in camp you guys have some cool camp ideas. The drone work was excellent as well. I wish I was at your level.

Some years ago, with my brother-in-law, while originally in a WalMart suicide inflatable, I swam the length of Mule Creek Canyon. I got pulled out right before the Coffee Pot. The drone doesn't capture the whirlpools and the sucking sound when one comes after you! I had a super PFD and a helmet and still got my butt kicked.

I liked the video Cody. I t was a good reminder for an upcoming Rogue trip I'll be taking in June. I think you guys should invest in a firepan . It was disappointing to see that you all had made a fire on the beach near the end of the film.

I've done this section quite a bit. You'll find it's a much more enjoyable trip. If you take 4 days and 3 nights.

The Rogue is a nice place, good trip! I cringed when your buddy dropped his oars at Rainee. IMHO, that's a stupid move since they weren't wearing helmets...

Next time please leave the drone at home. Not only is is annoying but it is also illegal to fly in a wilderness area. And no fire pan.... also illegal. If you can't follow simple rules and regulations please do rivers that do not have rules and regulations.

What are the regulations on flying a drone in this area?
@flipsfortrips1385 жыл бұрын
From talking to the ranger at the put in, I was given the go ahead to fly the drone. However, upon research further, it states, "UAS are considered to be both “motorized equipment” and “mechanical transport” and, as such, they cannot take off from, land in, or be operated from congressionally designated wilderness areas." To see where this is, see the tip sheet here. www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/stelprd3845678.pdf

Flips for Trips that’s kinda what I thought, but didn’t know if maybe you navigated a loop hole 👍😉

Yep. My thoughts exactly. Lots of drone footage on KZbin from the Rogue, and yes, it’s illegal to fly a drone in all federally-designated wilderness areas. However, getting explicit permission from the managing agency would be an exception to the restrictions. Hopefully the FAA won’t hassle you over it: especially as a Part 107 commercial drone pilot.

@@flipsfortrips138 I find that incredible hard to believe that they gave you the OK to illegally fly your drone in a wilderness area.

It's definitely a grey area, because I believe the wilderness boundary ends at the edge of the river (hence jet boats) in some areas. But I had this same thought.
