Imagining a 2000 mile journey in a double canoe, headed to an unknown island dotting a vast ocean. Now we do too much of our exploring in cyberspace. Thanks for uploading these vintage videos. I see that Alan Ziegler has been dead twenty years. RIP.

This is an amazingly produced documentary covering an amazing breadth of history. A topic I've long be interested in is the very early maritime migrations of polynesians and melanesians. It's amazing to think of them navigating oceans in dugouts to remote islands. As well as the voyages of the great Zheng He and the other remarkable seafaring accomplishments this is a great documentary.

It at least attests the false belief and/or claims about those people(s) being indigenous to lands in which they currently live.

My name is Donovan Grace, I am of Hawaiian decent, I was always lead to believe that the Hawaiian people came from the Marcaysis (I probably spelled that wrong lol) Islands with the first of these voyagers landing at South point. Soon after landing here, a group of voyagers set sail and eventually landing in New Zealand. There is what I believe is proof of this version of event via a plant that can only be found in 3 places in the world., South point on the big island, Papua New Guinea, and Australia. This plant has wood that's so tough that the Hawaiians used it for making fish hooks. This tree proves that the Hawaiians traveled that far across the Pacific.

James Cook, born in Middlesbrough, North East England. They built the world, from bridges across the U.S, to the Tyne bridge, to Africa, south Africa, China right over to the Sydney harbour bridge. You can find Dorman Long steel stamps in lots of places worldwide, it's like finding an easter egg in a game. For a good 100 years, we were the iron exporters and steel manufacturers of the world, providing Atlas steel in the US with the minerals and steel to produce the WTC... it's fair to say thanks to Henry Bolckow and John Vaughan, not only did my humble hardy hometown of Middlesbrough, England not just discover Australia, or provide the world with some of the best music, but provided the world with Steel, the foundation of the 19th/20th Centuries... from shipbuilding and bridges worldwide. True hardy, gritty Englishmen. Proud as punch mate.

yo im watching this because i have a theory, ancient nephilim giants were the Maori seafarers who had an extensive coastal civilization that spawned the stories atlantis, sea peoples, carthage, pheonicia... etc. They went around in boats and controlled the world. how far back though? we have human ancestors stretching 3million years. Maybe all of this stuff happened independently, like homo sapien occured via evolution and changing climate and these various groups who were disconnected via the changing climate ~15KYA. Then we get all these stories ebcause different groups of humans were more hostile to each other than a lion in the wilderness... So we get all these stories of ancient battle as all these peoples inland settled and took over the seafarers places. It is incredible really. but now im gonna watch this and see if im on the right track. We really are not original and we all just do what the environment makes us and our genetic instructions. Gosh i wish i could hold a cohesive thought long enough to type it out. But i guess this would be 900 pages isntead of a paragraph
