Rogue Warrior is a 2009 first-person shooter video game developed by Rebellion Developments and published by Bethesda Softworks for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game was released on November 26, 2009 in Australia, November 27 in Europe and on December 1 in North America.
In Rogue Warrior, the United States has sent in Richard Marcinko, a veteran U.S. Navy SEAL, on a mission into North Korea to disrupt ballistic missile launchers. The plot is not based on the autobiography by the game's protagonist, Richard Marcinko. Marcinko is voiced by actor Mickey Rourke.
First announced in 2006, Rogue Warrior was originally being developed by Zombie Studios, and was set for a 2007 release. However, the game's release was delayed after Bethesda stated that they were not satisfied with the direction Zombie Studios was taking the game. Bethesda quickly scrapped the project and brought in Rebellion Development to develop an entire new game from scratch. Rebellion, while retaining some major elements from Zombie's rendition, has taken a whole new approach to the game and its focus.
Rogue Warrior was universally panned by critics, who cited it as one of the worst games of 2009 and of all time. Criticism of the game included its poor controls, multiple glitches, frequent foul language, rushed production, uninteresting gameplay, short length, very limited multiplayer and broken and exploited combat techniques.

I remember when this game was 69.99 CAD. I went to EBGames with some buddies and we just had a laugh reading the blurbs on the back of the box, it was hilarious (Kill enemies before THEY kill you!). The original dev team could have made this one more notable, however. Zombie Studios were developing this game around 2006 as a squad-based tactical shooter with wide open levels, those two numb-fucks in the beginning would have been your reliable squadmates that would have fought by your side throughout the entirety of the game. And THEN they got shelved by Bethesda, who said they were not SATISFIED with the direction the game was being taken, so, they scrapped everything and straight up commissioned Rebellion to make their own game using left-over assets in 2009. Thus, they farted out a game in less then a year and Bethesda looked at Rouge Warrior and said "Yup, looks good enough to ship full price!" and thus here we are, listening to Mickey Rourke shout "Suck my balls, suck my big fucking hairy balls, wrap em' around your fucking mouth!". What a time to be alive.

Rebellion took over development of this after Bethesda was unhappy with what Zombie Studios had done. But, Rebellion were focused on their own titles (AvP 2010) and had the majority of their staff working on that. So... basically a skeleton crew took on this and tried to wrap it up as quickly as possible. But... it is a great bad game. I've had it for some time... and love how just... stupid it is.

It's Rebellion's in-house engine Asura. Same that was used for AvP 2010, Judge Dredd, Rogue Trooper and every Sniper Elite. This is very very old engine, but it's a fucking beast of an engine. So Rogue Warrior is just that bad.

He wasnt kicked out for embezzling, the brass just wanted to make it look like he was. What really happened was Red Cell exposed too many weaknesses in base security and the brass got pretty embarrassed. So, they drummed up a bunch of embezzlement charges so they could kick him out and cover up their cakeeater bullshit

Pretty much what James said. Top brass imagined (and after Dick was kicked out) made Red Cell into a unit that's only purpose is to fail at infiltrating bases and thus give good reviews to the base commanders and thus further their careers. Dick was having none of that and he took that work seriously thus giving a bad mark to plenty of base commanders and thus hindering their career or outright stopping any changes of promotion for them.

As someone stated, The engine is an early sniper/AvP engine. Graphically, a very dated looking engine to work with. The team had 10 months from start to finish to develop Rogue warrior. That’s single player and multiplayer, in 10 months. It’s a wonder it shipped at all. Core Design, creators of tomb raider etc, who were bought by rebellion, Developed Rogue warrior and 2 months from the end, Rebellion Runcorn, a small studio, jumped on board! Not long after Rogue warrior shipped, Rebellion shut the Core studio down.

I know that AK47 naming is very popular in English, but it's plainly wrong, a gun named AK47 never existed. Its official name is AK, it has a 7.62 mm caliber. The funny thing is there's only a newer 5.45 mm caliber version in a game (AK74, 2:31)

I'm disappointed in you GGGMan........... normally every single one of your videos are spot-on. Except this one!! You didn't even mention the ending credit song once!!!!!!!! That is Criminal!!!!!!! That's one of the most epic things in video game history damn it!!!!!!!!!! That is clearly one of the reasons why this game is exactly what Duke Nukem Forever wanted to be♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
