i think you covered everything. good job. one other thing i recommend for farming exotics is to keep an eye on what is targeted at Lincoln memorial everyday because it has 4 boss drops. Some invaded missions have multiple boss drops as well. Like grand washington hotel this week has 3. Strongholds typically have 3 bosses too but take a lot more time to complete so i don't recommend those.

By far the most informative video on Division 2 I have seen. I had the same confusing experience with Division 1 and as I am entering Division 2 world (thanks Ubisoft for denying us to get the game on Steam on day 1) this late entry might be a blessing or a curse. Just hit tier 1 and it bugs the hell out of me to see people cutting through enemies like a hot knife through butter while I struggle with a full crew to do some missions and getting metric ton of useless gear.

Just wanted to add note that the Named Weapons(note I said Weapons) in your DZ exclusive list at 3:15 is not exclusive to the DZ. There is a very slight small chance that Control Point bosses(CP3 or higher) can drop them. The chance is higher with Named Control Point Bosses(CP +4 or Heroic CP's as it were). Also open world Rogue Agents can drop them. I've had every one of those Weapons drop from CP+4 Bosses and/or open world Rogue Agents at one point or another.

You don't have to wait for the Season to be over! Once you've acquired it via the Season track, it immediately enters your general pool. You can go farm targeted backpack content for a chance to get another one 👍

Uh actually difficulty does affect drop rate, according to the devs and this is how they explained it. Higher difficulty = better quality but less frequent drops. Not sure if it's everywhere or just in places like summit, countdown and missions.

I know that the Acostas Go-Bag's original drop source was faction crates. Same as how the Lady Death was NYC Open World bosses, Tardigrade chest was True Sons bosses, etc. So I believe Acostas has a higher chance to drop from those

Unless it has been changed, in my experience targeted loot in terms of countdown and summit let's you drop only certain parts of specific gearsets, some of the parts will still remain exclusive for the raid they were introduced in.

The only DZ exclusive items I'm missing are the Rock N'Roll, Ferocious Calm and Death Grips, everything else I've obtained it through a Named Item cache or the Countdown vendor. I literally never had to step into the DZ to get the exclusive items thankfully

Just a small comment on the 'randomness' of exotic drops, I do the Bank mission almost every day and 99 % of the time when an exotic drops , usually from the final boss, its Sawyers Kneepads . Likewise with Lincoln Memorial its almost always Tardigrade. This seems to be irrespective of the targeted loot for that day. So if anyone is looking for those maybe those missions would be a good option. It would be interesting to know if other missions seem to have a higher chance of dropping a particular exotic. What do you think ? Great video as usual.

So, yes, certain Exotics do have "original" drop sources that exist in addition to their general loot pool slots. The Tardigrade from main mission True Sons bosses, for example, hence why you've gotten it from Lincoln. The Lady Death was famously first only available via NYC open world bosses. I contemplated including all of that in the video, but didn't want to make it too bloated for people trying to understand the systems 😄 good catch though!

Over time they've added select exemptions, like DZ Exclusives dropping from Seasonal Targets, so there's likely a few ways you could've picked them up. But they're *supposed* to only drop in the DZ :)

Hey! Yes, the System Corruption gear set (as well as the Yaahl brand set) are exclusive to the DZ. They can pop up in the DZ vendor rotation and have a slim chance from Legacy Season caches, but DZ is your best bet. Someone else pointed those out and I definitely should have included them in the video, so apologies for that!

Are there any good tips when it comes to grinding loot for early game? Right now I am only level 15 and I am just wondering what would be a good mission or something to do to get better loot faster. And I can not press a button to show targeted look, have not unlocked it yet as with my such low level

Is there a big reason you feel like you need to farm? I honestly can't think of what to recommend other than continuing to play missions or open world activities. All of that gear will be invalidated later on once you're a higher level, so I wouldn't worry about investing too much time there

The Regulus is the one exception to that Project category, it functions like a Raid drop where it stays exclusive to Iron Horse, I believe once you have it it has like a 1% chance to drop from the bosses in there

What platform are you on and what difficulty are you trying to matchmake for? I never wait longer than 15-20 seconds for a Countdown group on Challenging, and maybe a minute tops for Heroic main missions.

Yes! All you need to do is unlock the "Jupiter Manhunt Mission," it's a free reward on the Season track (usually between rank 40-70 somewhere). Once you get it, you can go to Roosevelt Island and change it to the Manhunt version. EMP Sticky is the final reward

It's not farmable, unfortunately. The weapon was exclusive to pre-ordering Warlords of New York, and as of now there is no other acquisition method. The Tsunami named SASG has the same talent though 👍

I haven't been on today, but be sure to check NYC. If you don't see it, I think we're at the point where the number of total target loot options is more than the total number of places for them to spawn, so a few things might be left out each day

If you have a record of that being in any patch notes, or some other proof, that'd be great. To my knowledge and in my experience nobody else you're grouped with has any influence on your own specific loot pool.

@@RogueGold no I am saying if I unlock an gear or weapon item in the rewards track and I’m playing with someone whom haven’t yet unlock that specific gear/weapon it will drop for that player I dnt record my game play but try it for urself next season and see

Anyone know why countdown on challenging would be better than heroic? Wouldn’t the items be better on heroic? Thanks!

The items are better, however the difficulty spike between Challenging and Heroic is pretty steep, and it can mean that matchmade teams have lower success rates, equaling the potential for less total efficiency and items over time. If you have a pre-made team for it though, Heroic can be very viable!

I typically swing for heroic and here's the reason why: Those lower rolls just don't interest me and I end up throwing away a lot more junk. Even if you lose the heroic countdown, you still keep all the loot you're getting as you go, so I don't see it as a super negative thing. Now, if you're farming caches as opposed to the targeted loot, the success rate is the most important factor. I usually build my own heroic countdowns (matchmade, but I make sure the team doesn't look too bad by checking everyone before we go in). You can swap people between the two 4-man groups to make both parties more successful. As with anything matchmade though, you are at the mercy of the people who join, so you could have 10 amazing runs one day, then the next not win any due to bad team comps and player skill.

RG, wouldn't higher difficulty affect quantity of loot anyway? Not directly of course, but higher difficulty means a higher elite ratio and these guys are the ones that drop the goods more often than not. Targeted loot behaves the same way in the open world as far as I've seen, chance for it to show up when a drop happens. Also, open world activities also give you guaranteed targeted loot upon completion (CPs, Convoys, Propaganda etc.)

I hadn't considered it from that angle. Possibly! I really have no idea how loot drop rates work with different veterancy of NPC's, or anything like that. This video was already pushing the boundaries of my technical knowledge of the game 😂 but that's a great point to bring up!

@@RogueGold here's another indicator: Why does Countdown have the largest loot drop capability in the game? Because every enemy in there is an elite.

Yes. When you get to 40 and complete the warlords dlc you will get alot of new stuff to dive into.

Incursions and Raids are two separate activity types. The Ouroboros, similar to Raid exclusive Exotics, cannot be farmed outside of the Incursion, even if someone has already acquired it. It will only drop from the Incursion

Yeah there's been a bug going around with that. But the intended design is that you need to unlock it from the Reward Track first 👍

@Name Surname To be fully honest with you, deep knowledge and insight into the numbers and math of this game is not my strong suit. It's something I've been trying to get a better grasp of in the past few months, actually. If I get to a place where I feel more confident in my understanding of it all, I can definitely do a video on that. In the meantime though there are people here on YT who focus a lot more on the numbers side of stuff, and have great videos out there about it!

What If you lost more than few seasons rewords, there s no chance you get it as exotic loot? .. Just dropping coyote and vile mask again and again.. But Chatarais???..

Regardless of if you earned it during the Season it was introduced in or not, Seasonal Exotics enter the General Pool as soon as that Season concludes. So yes, you can get the Catharsis by farming 👍

It's in the General Loot Pool, so your best chances for it to drop will be playing targeted Backpack content. It's a rare drop chance, so keep at it! Good luck!

As a general rule I prefer to avoid Heroic. Yes it does give the best chances of getting items with high rolls however the time to kill on enemies is such a drastic leap over challenging that it's not worth it unless you're shooting for an exotic and even then you could still argue it's better to have more drops over time. * Also some people like to milk the end of countdown by delaying the extraction to constantly farm the Black Tusk reinforcements but IMO this is a stupid practice that really needs to stop. The Hunters at the end (as well as the chest for winning the main objective) are what will net you the best loot, plus while I can't confirm this I'm relatively certain the sooner you extract the more tags you get for buying caches. And even if that's not true you're still delaying your next run. It's much more efficient to just wipe the Hunters ASAP and then GTFO.

You miss the part that delaying the extraction and killing those enemies has a chance to drop an exotic. I guess you're one of those annoying players that shoots the flare as soon as you get to the extraction. What is your IGN so i can avoid you. Fyi, extracting sooner doesn't earn you more tags/credits, killing all the hunters does.

The best farming guide will be playing and naturally enjoy the game like all us vets did/do. Being 33shd and expecting to have the same power level like a 9k SHD player it's having unrealistic expectations which can only be realistic in time and after time consuming by acknowledge how the game properly work and learning his complex mechanics. The nr.of newbies running lately in heroics with 4-5 directives ON and basically being oblivious how the game works and how the Npc"s scaling work on scaled content it's scary lately. The other day I did Capital building with some randoms in heroics and they had 4 directives ON with 2 if them being under 50 shd ....I gad to revive 14 times and basically carrying the hole mission by myself with 168 kills (basically I killed almost all the Npc's my myself). Whoever says SHD doesn't represen/mean nothing it's a fool and only will be true when those SHD points where made by exploiting rats. I know all this was a little off topic but all this farms tips videos are meaning very few if you don't have knowledge about how stuff truly work in this game. Only respect Gold and this was just my opinion and insight of what this game it's truly about and how few times i consider content creators talk about. You are between fews left who has my respect when It comes about this game, majority are just a bunch of trolls and false watched"creators".✌️

All this is very true. However, from my experience (and my SHD is 6600), I've noticed that exotics tend to drop a bit more on challenging difficulty in countdown as opposed to heroic difficulty, providing that your targeted loot is an item (mask, holster, etc.) and not a brand.
