So, I feel like you'll get this. It sounds like an architects album in every way that it doesn't. It sounds like the culmination of the five musicians striking out after the loss of Tom, and trying to rebuild. essentially as a new entity.

It’s weird that after my first play-through of this album, I liked Dying Is Absolutely safe just fine, I knew it was deep, but it didn’t really hit me like it hit a lot of other people. Then I watched you reacting to it, and idk what did it, but when the quiet part of the closing verse hit, I won’t lie to you, and make believe sincerity, I shed a tear and my whole body was just swarmed with chills. It finally hit me, and it’s such a beautiful fucking closer, mate. I thoroughly believe Tom was the sole inspiration for that last bit for sure.

That's why it's the strongest song on the album. Because it's not been ruined by awful vocal effects and mediocre lyrics. I don't agree that it's their best album at all. But each to their own and there are some good songs in there, but others are very weak in my opinion

I wonder if I'm lucky for finding Architects through this album preventing me from having too high of expectations. I've gone back and Holy Hell and All Gods Have Abandoned Us are still the bands holy grail to me but this album gets damn close. The Abbey Lane version makes some songs even better and even made me come around to a song I didn't originally F with. The singles released so far after the album haven't struck that emotional core for me in my opinion it seems like the raw emotion of their other work just isn't there as much in them. While it doesn't ruin my excitement for the next album it's definitely successfully warned me to not put my expectations in the clouds. Also can't leave without giving some love.. great video as always man really is special how many life-changing bands I've found through reactors like you.

Holy Hell was a good album, but i listened to a lot of other opinions of it and people said it sounded like architects, but it didn't. it felt like they were trying to preserve their old sound before Tom passed. i'll always miss their sound with Tom, but this album sounds not like the old Architects, but like they rebuilt entirely and came back and found a sound that fit them perfectly and i fucking love every song off of this album. Sam's vocal performance is beyond outstanding, the sounds they've incorporated into this album, the work the band has put into it and put into projecting themselves is stellar. they absolutely deserved No. 1 and cemented their position as one of my favourite bands of all time, now and forever.

I think i might have an explanation as to why all the songs start on a static note/ sound. it's not on the streamed versions but on the vinyls and I'd guess the CD too, all the songs are connected and flow into each other. So for example an ordinary extinction is probably a good 20 seconds longer because the intro plays longer and slightly different. Also on the D side (the second vinyls B side) there's a ridge at the end, so the last half second of dying is absolutely safe repeats unitl YOU get the needle off the disc. If not, it just keeps repeating itself eternally. Don't know if that means anything, I just thought it was super cool that there's more to experience on the actual copies of the record than on the streamed versions.
