Sam said in a interview that "fans" sent him and Dan messages like "Tom would never had approved of this soft crap" on the release of their last album this is a well deserved F you to all those people that did that

Obviously nasty comments are not on. But I don't get it - because they're obviously just pieces of shit kids who say things like this, so if you hate the idea of only being compared to your old sound, why go to the lengths of making a track entirely FOR those pieces of shit? With that said, I reckon 90% of the Architects fan base would LOVE more of this sound anyway. The approach just comes across so bitter, but then also rewards people for being arseholes.

I love that you caught on that it’s combining their old style with the new style, that’s what I believe the last 2 albums were for, experimenting that new style to make a whole new style with their old style together. My only wish is that this isn’t an outlier on the album, please give us a headbanging album (yes I’m feeding into the lyrics a little, but while I enjoyed last 2 albums, no one can deny that Architects are at their best when they’re mad).

I can't help but laugh at the people who are calling this song "immature".... Like, you're supposed to pull influence from your life experiences for music right? Can't convince me that the fans turning on Architects, telling them how they wish they were angry again irl, and taking shots at a dead band member/the current band members as it relates to his death, ISN'T a huge fucking real life experience that has impacted them all in some way. As good as this song is, the reason that it happened deeply saddens me. They've been bullied beyond to the point of this, and their interviews break everything down to what led to it. The "Blegh" was Sam being like "Fuck you here's what you want-happy?!"
@LM_61211 ай бұрын
Also when people say this song is "Basic" I feel like that was the whole point. They hit on every corny, crowd pleasing point including the structure of the breakdown. Like checking every box to show people "See, it isn't creativity and artistry that people are appreciating, it's the basic norm of what metalcore and we should be." They absolutely thought this well out more than we realize...

If a band doesn’t evolve the sound every now and then you’d all get bored eventually so either way for bands its a lose lose nothing new is good enough and the same exact sound over and over would be annoying so the early 2000s are over keep the memories and move on these want to make music for themselves as well as people who connect with each of any song not just people who are really here for that teen rebellious phase 24/7 til they die stay off their damn backs and now more bands might do this now and it’s deserved yes we all loved them back then but it’s time to grow up with the band that’s point of being a fan support the artists for giving something different a new shot even if you don’t like it there is literally no need to throw a fit just because you didn’t get what you want this why they break up sometimes cause it’s hard to please you babies now

They may be mad but watch the streams and views get higher🤔 i wanna look at it in a positive note. Maybe they needed a push to bring back who they really are. I think they were gonna go heavy again regardless and used all the bs for a song but dude. Death threats and shit aint cool
@LONGname4611 ай бұрын
Yeah I think people commenting how much they hate it ironically are boosting stats for Architects in the algorithms too which is hilarious. Ftwwte is honestly one of my fav albums and while I’m not as into the first albums, I do think them infusing what they’re doing now into what they were doing is great for their own images but also a little detrimental, in some way gratifying what the haters had been saying in regards to “yOu GuYs ArEn’T aS gOoD aS yOu uSeD tO bE”, but it’s on their terms rn so I’m so for what they got in store!

Some people definitely crossed a line, but this really seems like them just being petulant about the fact that longtime fans don't like that they sold out. But let's be real here, nothing about their songwriting has "matured," it's not "more mature" just because it's watered-down, boring, and is basically a carbon copy of all their Octane Genericore contemporaries. They changed for money. Couldn't care less that it's less heavy, what bothers me is that it's fucking _boring._ It's also over-produced and sounds artificial and glossed-over as all Hell on good gear. You can't release this in 2023 and think you're contributing anything new or noteworthy. Especially after some of the other songs and records that have released this year. I just don't get what they're even trying to do anymore.
