Hi RogueRxyce. Rosalia often uses autotune as a sound effect rather than pitch correction. We are both agreed she doesn’t need it for that. It has proven controversial and disappointed a few as she could easily dispose of it and still sound great. But let’s not forget there are plenty artists out there that rely on autotune rather than use it as a stylistic choice and Rosalia doesn’t fall under that category.
@RogueRxyce3 жыл бұрын
I agree she is definitely not in the same category as someone who uses it because she has to in order to sound good. This woman is talented with and without. Whatever she chooses to do, im still going to listen 😂
@_FsEk3 жыл бұрын
@@RogueRxyce My post sounded a little angry, trust me I’m not! For something a little more traditional in Rosalia’s back catalogue I recommend “La Hija de Juan Simon” (with English subtitles) and “Si tu Supieras Compañero”. A more cutting edge and experimental track would be “A Pale”

She experiments with her sound, which sometimes includes autotune. This performance is acapella, but the recorded version is not. Yes, the vibe is Flamenco, but she does it in a way that popularizes the genre -- which is controversial in the Flamenco community. Her albums are worth a listen. You will be amazed by her videos too. As I've said before, she is a once-in-a-generation artist.

Hi friend. I'm going to tell you that you are loving and that I love how excited you get when you listen to Rosalía, however, I would like you to investigate a little more about her videos. In this performance, Rosalía had very little time to prepare and she decided to be accompanied by that wonderful choir of palm gypsies who provided the background and rhythm with their clapping and their words. The lyrics of this song are absolutely beautiful: “SAY MY NAME WHEN THERE'S NO ONE NEAR. MAY THE THINGS YOU TELL ME DON'T COME OUT THROUGH THAT DOOR. TIE ME WITH YOUR HAIR TO THE CORNER OF YOUR BED, THAT EVEN WHEN THE HAIR BREAKS I WILL PRETEND THAT I AM TIED. SAY MY NAME AND PUT YOUR BODY AGAINST MINE, MAKE THE BAD GOOD AND TURN THE IMPURE BLESSED. MAKE ME PRAY OVER YOUR BODY IN THE CORNER OF YOUR BED AND AT THE LAST MOMENT SAY MY NAME TO MY FACE». She is talking intimately with her lover about when they make love. Sorry for the translation, I'm using Google Translate and I hope I haven't bothered you by going into great lengths, but I think the occasion was worth the effort. A greeting from Spain.

flamenco is about to sing traditional lirics, repeting the melody but putting there your personality aswell, ,, so here she is singing "tangos" from the famous Repompa (famous past time flamenco singer) and she sing it in these days way, for the horror of traditional flamenco public, but she is young and that what life really needs, and the auto tune i think is used because is something in common of the kind of music or public she is into, and is more an effect that a needed for her, ,,, as much as i see her i like her most, nice and fresh young lady, full of talent and still naif and inocent enough, wish her a long and nice life
