Peter...it the end of the season but you needed to take note of the strong negative wind they were running in. That was the main reason for the 100m times.

@@DanielAtDem Again....The point was....the times would have been much closer to their norm that what was displayed. For instance...Watson ran a 10.4 with the negative wind. No wind and that time would have been about where he's been running all year which is in the 10.1s - 10.2s. Peter made the point that the times are because of the end of the season and I was pointing out to HIM that he shouldn't look at the times and blame it on the end of the season because it had more to do with the negative wind. No where in that was anyone mentioning sub 10. Oh and btw...since you asked....Rohan's time would have been about 10.27 in dead wind and 10.0s - 10.1s with a positive 2.0 wind.

My point, however, is that even if that same wind had been behind the athletes (i.e., +2.8m/s), their times would still have been unimpressive. And, I brought up the 10-second barrier simply because it’s the benchmark for a world-class male sprinter. BTW, 10.48s into a -2.8m/s headwind converts to roughly 10.27s in still air, and with a 2.0m/s tailwind, it would be around 10.17s-not 10.0s to 10.1s. You might want to double-check that...

Peter, I get that, being Jamaican, you are sometimes biased towards our athletes. However, I believe declaring that our male sprinters are back is quite premature. Frankly, we cannot truly be "back" until we win the 100m at the Olympics or World Championships.
