On the login screen of mi flash unlock tool , you can see a QR Code option on the top right corner of the login box, click on it and then scan that QR with Xiaomi's scanner app ( present in miui ) then you will get a captcha , fill it and then OTP will come, enter that and your login on the mi flash unlock tool will be completed.

I'm confused should I need to flash a custom ROM or not bcz my old device had great development (mido aka Redmi note 4) but the present device ( poco x3) seems not have much and I used to observe that many times when a update comes (for custom ROM) they used to mention clean flash is that still going on bcz this time I don't want head ace of clean flashing every now and then ....so Rohit should I need to flash and get used to miui 🥲 ?

Or with magisk root and swift backup, you have absolutely nothing to worry about. You can take a full backup of all apps and some other device data, and when you restore, it will be like you never even did a clean flash

Other than that it's a very smooth, normal experience you're afraid of nothing really. But sure, you're welcome.

If you press in CMD fastboot devices(when your phone is in fastboot) and your PC doesn't t see any devices you need to download android MTK, after installation go-to device manager-android device(android)-right click-prop-update driver-browse my comp for drivers-let me pick from a list-android device- android composite ADB interface, and now is work.

Hi Sir , I am trying to unlock an old redmi 2 prime device. It is based on miui9 Android 5.1. one thing that is missing in developer options is :Mi Unlock Status' I don't see it anywhere. When I use unlock tool it goes upto 99% and fails with message Device basic data validation failed, device couldn't be unlocked. Mi account is setup correctly. Would appreciate any input from you. Go to about page then tap on miui version 7 times , it will unlock developer options in the last option of settings page, then tap on OEM unlocking, then click mi unlock status then tap add account and device then wait for 7 days

@@letsee9215 mi unlock is an app for windows, not for android, u will have to use your laptop or pc for booltoader unlock, after waiting for 7 days(don't tap on add account and device if u have already done that because it will reset your waiting time).. What do u want to do with unlocked bootloader(rooting or custom rom?)

@@GatikPrasher thanks for replying. Basically the KZbin app stopped working as Android 5 is no longer supported. I wanted to get it to work, easiest way was to flash a custom ROM, I thought it would be easy, as I have done so on other devices multiple times. I am aware of the steps to do so, but here on this redmi 2 prime, which has miui9 on Android 5.1, the bootloader is locked. Based on multiple KZbin videos, I followed all the steps. However the roadblock for me is, that , the MI UNLOCK STATUS OPTION, is not available. I had followed rest steps, when like locating the phone on mi cloud etc. still the mi unlock tool gets stuck at 99% saying basic device verification failed. So l don't see the message to wait for 8 days to unlock bootloader. I think it's the missing mi unlock status under the dev option that is the problem. Are you aware how to get that option or any work around

Try various custom ROMs, rooting is kinda dead at this point since Magisk closed their online repo, removed Magiskhide, SafetyNet etc. The dev of Magisk also joined google (so they are probably sabotaging it from inside)
