I have grey vetiver and this…the Roja has made the other one obsolete. The TF smells screechy and gives me a headache now.

Ramsey, I love your videos as they have no filters, which I truly appreciate and enjoy. I am thinking that Roja likes them as well, and gets a few chuckles from your videos. I cannot comment on Roja’s Vetiver, even though my latest perfume binge is only from my own collection, from which I have not been able to own anything new due to budget constrictions, but I have been trying to concentrate on only what I already own. As much as I love vintage, my collection consists of perfumes I once considered as being “new” as they truly were at one nano moment. Now, there are so many new perfume houses and new perfumes from old, new and any other genre, that I really am out of the loop. However, once I watch your channel (which is very often”), I become more encouraged and agree with mostly everything you say about perfume and the perfume world in general. Keep on cranking them out Ramsey, as you always seem to do your homework and all your videos seem to be very knowledgeable and interesting to read. Thank you for all your energizing and interesting videos.

This one sparkles. I thought it may be a touch of ambergris. To my nose, it’s rich and enchanting…I also like grey vetiver, but I feel a big difference in quality between the two.

I'm looking to buy a sample of Guerlain Vetiver soon, vetiver frags are still new to me but I imagine liking the style. I received Habit Rouge, Shalimar and JP Ma Liberte today and HR is smells really classy to me while S and ML are very very naughty, high quality but naughty for sure, I can imagine all of these three to really shine in summer. Cheers Rams ,very fair take on this one and indeed Roja in general,our choice and ya pay your money and takes your chances kinda thing 😊. For me Diaghilev is worth the 670 bucks I recently paid (new bottle but juice is same as my old travel atomizer) not that the ingredients are worth it ,their completely sustainable and that ensures a long life for Diaghilev lol, I just love the scent so much,but I will be damned if I pay for his Vetiver,that said I will in the new year hunt down a Guerlain vintage bottle of vetiver,Derby ,and heritage,my bucket list if you will. Ramsey, Hello! I as well own that vintage Guerlain VETIVER ..it's been awhile since worn but it's great stuff. Speaking of being unique, I'm willing to bet the late Mona Di Orio's Les Nombres Le VETYVER is truly a unique VETIVER. And of course I'm speaking of the original red box creation,not 75ML bottle that I've not smelled. Thanks for vid. A2! P. S. My bottle of Agar Ebene by Hermes arrived last WK end. Solid scent👍

I must say .. I love Encre Noire , Specialy " Nishane Sultan Vetiver" with a bunch of Vetiverios and the Absinth - just whao , and also Guerlain Vetiver Extreme ( vintage ) - very good in my book , and quality ? top notch ..and affordable!? I can say that I came once between or inside the Roja bubble, and I must admit that they are good ..( I spend half a day in a very huge vintage Niche Perfume shop in Bonn , Germany ) .. had hell of a day there ;) but the look on the pricing of the Roja made me a bit dizzy I must admit.. hard to regulate or justify "a" pricetag.. but that`s really what it is.. decissions of customer approach.. hard to handle these days .. what a world. good choices and a good overview.. thx Ramsey.. nice

I have this. I 100% agree that Tom Ford Grey Vetiver basically does this just as well for much less money.

If money means anything to you I absolutely agree .... this is basically Roja does Guerlain Vetiver / Tom Ford Grey Vetiver with a sprinkle of pepper from Frederic Malle Vetiver Extraordinaire... for 500 bones for 50ml 🦴

His Vetiver is amazing, but considering the price, the raw material, and the execution, it can't be the king Vetiver in my books, that belongs to Guerlain Vetiver. The execution is amazing, because Roja is a master, but at the end of the day, it's a vetiver scent. You can't do a synthetic Vetiver, and there are so many great ones out there and some, more interesting, like Sultan Vetiver. I like that he put oakmoss in this and labdanum, but I don't get that much of that, especially the labdanum. But at the end of the day, it's a clean, citrusy Vetiver. He will be remembered for making Diaghilev, he deserves all the appreciation and all the flowers for making that masterpiece. And I'll say this a thousand times, when Encre Noire it's such an amazing scent at 25 bucks and this is 500....you can't convince me that he did 475 bucks worth of magic to a vetiver scent. This one is great too, in my top 5 Vetivers, but I enjoy others more. That's just me of course! Cheers, Ram! 🍻

I tried rojas vetiver and guerlain vetiver side by side - there is no comparison. Roja's vetiver is a grail acent of the natural woody smells for me. I wished i liked the guerlain better because of price, but i am not wo lucky.

Roja's a "luxury" product after all similar to other domains like cars, watches, fashion, etc. All of them are more expensive than they should be but they've established themselves as "luxury" and diminishing returns comes with the territory. Luckily its possible to find the essential Roja's on discounters making them more accessible to folks like me.

I’ve only tried the Parfum Cologne version of Vetiver. Meh! IMO, a diluted Guerlain Vetiver. Nothing else to say. That 5ml decant now sits in a small plastic container at the back of the closet. I’m lucky it is just a decant.

This is a nice perfume but too costly coz it’s linear and one would not want to reach for it everyday. I really don’t remember the price when I purchased it but it certainly wasn’t 500.

@@RamseytheRam yes. That’s about what I paid too. But this is too much of a price for a linear perfume and Roja has some linear perfumes in his lineup. Roja elixir is a rose fragrance and doesn’t shift at all. He also has a perfume called lily. But like you said you just need the price to be high otherwise you won’t be recognized as a brand for the elites.
